My question: Who has the ability to fire Sherman, Philbin or Ireland?
Nothing is coming out of Miami right now in terms of the fate of the Miami Dolphins head coach and general manager. While it remains quiet there is an increasing feel from the Dolphins locker room that offensive coordinator Mike Sherman may or at least from the players view “should” be on the way out.
According to NFL.com’s Adam Beasley VIA Twitter, “There’s a sense in the Dolphins locker room that Mike Sherman will and should be gone.”
This could be the news that allows fans to wrap their heads around HC Joe Philbin and GM Jeff Ireland staying. It says nothing of Kevin Coyle the defensive coordinator but there is little question that Mike Sherman has been at the top of the fans ire all season. His play calling and half-time adjustments have been the butt of many jokes all year. His comparisons to former OC Dan Henning have also been top of the line sarcastic.
When one media guy throws out a “insider” look at the team you tend to dismiss it but NFL Network reporter Jeff Darlington who maintains a very close relationship with many of the Dolphins players said VIA Twitter that many players feel it’s time for Tannehill to “graduate from Sherman”.

Obviously, they did their analysis of Sherman and showed him the door!
next to go is our o-line coach Turner. Another pathetic coach who, didn't produce!
Mark my words , he is the next one to be fired.
Philbin was given an ultimatum over the weekend....fire Sherman, and stay...or you both go...he thought about it, and made the right and tough decision...
I think that Philbin..is actually a very good coach...and I am a tough critic!
I honestly believe that sherman and his stubborn old school ways have held philbin back...
I would hire the San Fran offensive coordinator, and promote him to assistant head coach..
Their qb is very similar to tannehill...and I love the way they use the read option during critical 3rd down plays! Tanny can run the same plays effectively!
Lets see how this all plays out...I think that this is a good move and should push us to a better record next season!

I very rarely understand Bobs logic, but this one really has me scratching my head? By his own admission, he (chyren that is) admits that firing Sherman was the #1 thing most fans wanted, but he's mad Ross followed suit?
I understand wanting more changes, but lets be honest here, we could of easily been staring at "status quo" going into next year......and there wouldn't be a damn thing any of us could of done about it, lets at least rejoice that Ross made the most obvious change needed.....baby steps people.....baby steps........

I believe there is at least one NFL team that will be interviewing him as HC. Probably won't be hired, but getting the interview in itself says something.
