Black qbs dealt w/ it and they had more aholes than Kelly to deal w/. Hartline is not asking anyone to defend him.

I don't read Omar Kelly. I really don't think he knows the game. Not sure where he grew up he says he is Jamaican. Most kids growing up in S Florida know a little about football. I have not read an article from him in years. I grew up on Ed Pope and Bob Rubin both quality writers for the herald in the 60s thru the 80-s. There is not one S FLa writer that I read these days so its not only Kelly. As far as I'm concerned Kelly reminds me of some people that post here. There were folks here crapping on Clay when he had the dropsies in pre season now they love him. All John Jerry does is show up and plays hard some folks here still call him names. Kelly to me is just another dumb *** I stopped reading him years ago as I say he doesn't know much about the game itself. So he targets people.

Crowder, I think Mizzou is right. It only gets to you if you know it is absurd and you don't TAKE IT AS absurd and instead, take it seriously and get offended.


If you know it is absurd and you take it that way, you get your chuckles every day by reading it.... and it is even more funny when you consider that he himself (Omar) is serious and means to be taken seriously.

I can understand why Crowder feels that way though. To be serious for a moment. If you were a white journalist and you said that all black players run faster, or said anything remotely like Omar did , they would be working in walmart. But Omar seems to get away with writing blatant racist comments like the ones above. On Top of that he is always consistently wrong in his predictions , makes you wonder why anyone pays him for anything. he really has no worth.

My problem, is he is "everywhere"!
He is on every sports radio station in South Florida....almost everyday...

I just can't get away from tuning in and listening to him!

I have a problem, when the radio stations give him air time, and he spews his opinions which are baseless and wrong.


Yeah , I can stop listening to the radio...and thank god I have Sirius, and I can listen to Alex marvez who was a south Florida Beat writer,,,and is a million times better than o Kelly!

Those guys were the greatest! I have fond memories of reading their Herald columns as a kid as well.

Treasure, do you remember how Lionel Jefferson used to play Archie Bunker and by play I mean how he dealt with him? It was loads of fun for Lionel. That's the way you play anyone who has a racist mindset of any type, whether anti-White or anti-Black.

Sure. And face to face I do that every time I'm called a fat assed white cracker. I've been called that so much I was thinking of just legally changing my name to it. Its just ignorance so it doesn't bother me.

But when a professional Journalist with a platform to reach thousands does it , and doesn't get any heat for it , it can be quite frustrating to hear. Especially when the shoes is on the other foot and when something is said along the same lines , there is a million man march. Politically correct doesn't seem to apply to middle aged white men. Just saying........but you are right , ignorance is ignorance. And Omar is DEF ignorant.

It doesnt bother me, for I mainly ignore the guy. I don't take him serious.. But when his name comes up around here from time to time, I will always speak my mind about the guy....Especially when people try and defend him and attack others who call him out... Also his inflammatory comments have nothing to do with money and he surely is not laughing all the way to the bank.. Rush is at least extremely rich from his nonsense.. On the other other hand, Sun Sentinel is probably the lowest paying newspaper in the entire country... That is why Omar gets away with it, he knows, he makes bread crumbs for his writings, and the paper isn't going to fire him because they will have a hard time getting anyone to write for just gas money... Omar probably can't get a job writing anywhere else which is why he stays... Sun Sentinel and Omar are a match made in heaven, a scrub beat writer for a dieing "has been" scrub of a rag newspaper..
I agree pretty much all of our local writers suck, not like the old days when good journalism was actually coveted...

Its like with that Duck Dynasty guy.

He has the right to say whatever he wants about gay people, blacks and any other group he wants to comment on.

And everyone else has the right to agree with his comments or to consider them to be ignorant, ill-informed bigotry.

With the Duck Dynasty guy, his employer didn't share his sentiments and acted accordingly.

With Omar, it seems his paper had no problems with his comments. Perhaps if enough angry fans wrote in to complain, Omar's employer would change their perspective. Perhaps not.

Like I said folks. I don't know Omar Kelly out here on the West coast. But when you see a performance like today, and he attacks the team as sucking, how can you in turn attack him?

If you hate a team, like I do the Patriots, and I see them sucking, I'm all glad and all smiles. I DON'T COMPLAIN.

Therefore PLEASE MAKE THE LOGICAL CONNECTION! When you complain about your team sucking and your team IS IN FACT SUCKING, then you are a fan. Not an enemy.
