...Russell Wilson was a Dolphin.

As I'm watching the Seattle/Narlins game, I'm looking at two amazing QBs that we could have had.

Too bad we don't have the talent evaluates to find a real QB. You know, someone who can spot all the tools, as well as the intangibles.

Instead we have a converted WR who thinks the Chiefs are in the NFC East.
Sure, he could develop into an above avg QB in the next 2-3 years.

Woopee...Can't wait....

Pete Carroll has things a "movin and a groovin" in Seattle. His game plans are working.

Wilson was a 3rd round pick. That means 31 other teams passed on him also. Twice.

Wilson was better than Tanne in college and is better than Tanne now. I am a Tanne backer but the truth is the truth.

One of those two amazing QB's didn't look so amazing last night! Brees cost me a win in FF.

Nice job taking unfounded pot shots at OUR qb though! On a week when he gets us a win. Nice.

Agreed, SamSam. It's going to take more time if Tanny is ever able to become an effective pocket QB. The last two weeks have been encouraging in terms of him NOT holding the ball too long like he did in the earlier games and getting sacked.

Could be his growth but also could be that the new guys on the line are better than those we spent all the money on.

But also the question is that if he DOES learn to be a pocket QB, will his accuracy on the DEEP BALL get better?

That has nothing to do with coaching or offensive scheme but that has to do with his talent. That may not change because you can teach a boxer a lot of tricks but the power of his punch or the speed of his punched is according to what nature gave him and is something that can't be changed. So accuracy on the deep ball cannot be coached.

Which is why I'm always saying that instead of trying to make that come true, let him just kill them with the short pass and have the other teams defense chase Wallace around all day.

You guys do remember that when Wilson And Tannehill went head to head in their rookie year.... Wilson lost and RT led us to a 4th QT come from behind TD....

Here are the Stats from that game, Crowder.

SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
Passing Cmp Att Yds TDs
R. Wilson 21 27 224 2

MIAMI DOLPHINS
Passing Cmp Att Yds TDs
R. Tannehill 18 26 253 1

Can't see exactly dominance by RT but one could argue that his completions were for more yardage although a lower percentage of completions and 1 less touchdown pass.

But the most important stat, is that in that head to head game, RT lead his team to come from behind with a 4th qt TD to win, something Wilson failed to do.... That gets the most weight then all the other head to head stats for the day IMO....

It's arguable Crowder. Some would say even a last minute drive has to take the performance of the 10 other guys but it counts for a lot.

Meaning Tanny beat Wilson last year and Luck this year?

Or meaning Tanny's beating Wilson was luck?

(Tannehill) " is missing receivers on the deep ball either by over or under throwing them."

And this you blame on the coaches? The man is a QB in the NFL. Thowing accurate passes, especially on the deep routes, is HIS job. Not the coaches. They just put him in position to have the time and targets. They have done this. If he consistently misses them, that's on him.

Rick, I'll answer yours first because it at least makes sense as opposed to the idiocy of JSM08.

Yes, it is a player's fault and not the coaches that he is deficient at doing a certain task.

But there could be ONE OF TWO REASONS FOR THAT.

Either he could be deficient in his technique, which would go back to either coaching and which if the coaches have told him over and over again to correct and if he didn't, it's on him. Of course, if they haven't correct him, those coaches can't lay it on High school through College coaches and claim innocence.

But what I was saying that it is the SECOND REASON. And that is that he just simply lacks the talent at the deep ball. And that is definitely on the Coaches if they keep INSISTING on him doing it when they should know he can't and particularly if he IS VERY GOOD at getting the whole job done another way, such as the short passing game.
