I noticed that on spread multiple WR formations that SD ran, we brought in Dion Jordan to cover Antonio Gates, and Jordan was on him like stink on sh*t... It appears we had Ellerbe playing the middle, and Jordan as the olb covering Gates, with Wake, OV, Starks and Odrick as the front 4, with 3 cb's... I think Jordan covering these TE's when they spread us out, is a good move. The TE's don't like it.. He did it with Gronk and now Gates... I am glad they are trying to get him in the game..And with him being also like a 3rd DE, who can blitz at any time..
I also noticed he wasn't afraid of the TE speed either, he played Gates right up on the line...

Perhaps. Soliai IS a natural NT. On the other hand, if Jordan can play DE in a 4-3, that would allow us to put him in a position where we have weaknesses. We have plenty of DEs, but we're weak at OLB.
I don't know why they don't use him like Von Miller....at 4-3 SLB...anyway
Dion Jordan is the 2nd ranked DE in pass coverage and in the top 20 overall. He ranked higher overall than Chris Long, Julius Peppers, Chandler Jones, Ziggy Ansah and Jared Allen.
He is going to be an impact player. He doesn't have the sacks this year but he does have 14 hurries & 3 hits in only 200 snaps. Considering he drops in coverage that's pretty good. Cam Wake has 20 hurries in 358 snaps (and 7 sacks).
Once he bulks up to play the run better, he is going to be a monster.
He has actually improved in rush defense, has a higher grade vs the run than rushing the passer and does not carry a negative grade in any category.
