I say we will have a chance of making playoffs is we go 5-1 which is not realistic at this point.
I think we might have more of a chance of going 3-3 beating the jets twice and the bills once.
The other 3 games are unwinnable IMHO. But anything is possible as long as the Oline and tannehill plays well.
The D needs to play better against the run.....Both ellerbe and wheeler seem more like busts so far than anything else.
And we seriously need patterson to be healthy to have a chance because carroll stinks.

Definitely?
The only definite thing about the Dolphins is that we definitely don't know what they are going to do week-to-week, game-by-game, quarter-by-quarter, etc.
Problem is that if we don't make the playoffs, we are better off with a higher draft pick but if we get the higher draft pick we will probably pass on good players and draft poorly. So what should we hope for?

They beat the Bills and the Lions. The Lions have a suspect defense, and the Bills are Jeckel and Hyde. Before that they lost to the Raiders and Pats. I'm not convinced that Pitt's good play is going to continue consistently.
I can't believe anyone on this board is talking Miami Dolphins and playoffs in the same sentence.
Have we been watching this team on the field? Have we seen the problems this team is having on the field (weaknesses)? Are we all aware of the nonsense that is going on with the whole organization?
Our guys just aren't playing that well, nor are they playing consistent football. Offense (normally) can't get the job done, either running or passing. Our defense (normally) allows way too many yards on the ground and (normally) gives up the big play(s) at crunch time.
This just isn't a playoff team this year.
Yeah, we can always play the what-if game. The Pats lost last night, so now Miami is only two games back in the AFCE. The Jets are up-and-down, but they have a solid defense.

Don't forget that the Ravens game was winnable, and Miami dominated the Pats in the first half, so I blame that loss on the coaches. If they had a coaching staff that could figure out how to get one more TD per game they would be in the discussion for the division crown or even a bye.
As for the rest of this season... forget the playoffs. This coaching staff does not have what it takes to get this team over the hump and return to the post-season.
I think their chances of making the playoffs are very slim. they're nothing more than a .500 team.
we could come out with a no huddle spread offense this week and destroy the panthers only to abandon it next week to try to establish a running game and lose.
the only consistent thing about this team is it's inconsistency.
and i'm tired of hearing tanne needs to do this, the o needs to do that. where's the blame for this expensive front 7? they should be dominating and they're average at best.
wake has a 3 sack game and disappears the next. the LBs were supposed to be difference makers. I haven't seen it. coyle should be right their on the hot seat with Sherman but somehow gets a pass.
we have a young inexperienced QB and he's being asked to carry the team. there's a fundamental flaw in that. your expensive veteran D should be carrying the team.
if we can't sweep the jets and beat the bills, and beat one of the Pats at home, Panthers at home, or Steelers, we won't make the playoffs and probably shouldn't anyway.
guys if we make the playoffs it will be a bloodbath anyway

The beatings will continue until morale improves.
I'd rather get a better draft pick than worry about going to the playoffs where we would get beat in the first round. Let's build a team not worry about going to the playoffs when we don't deserve to
C'mon, lets get serious. We have no hope in hell to get past Denver or New England in the playoffs. I'm sure the loss would rival the J'ville thumping.
So it's a good thing we wont even get a sniff.
I see us losing to NE, Lina, NYJ(at least once), and Buffalo again.
Pitt could go either way, and if we get swept by the Jets, Ireland WILL be gone.
WTF is the point of hoping for this team to get in the playoffs when they'd be demolished and humiliated in the 1st round on national television with millions watching?
This team has about as much of a chance of winning the Superbowl let alone even getting there as I do for getting a Lamborghini for Christmas.
So what if we get blown out in the first round? As one of the youngest teams in the league, wouldn't some playoff experience be beneficial down the road, especially to Tannehill?

Thank you!
Anyone who wants to lose for a better draft pick has a losers mentality. How about just finding a great player(s) later down the board????
I sure as hell wouldn't want to pass on success just for a chance to draft ONE player. We had the #3 pick last year and where did it get us?
What's the point of going to the playoffs?
1. To shed this loser mentality
2. shed the stigma of being a laughing stock
3. YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME! HELLO????
I would rather be a perennial playoff team (as we were through 2002) and lose every year in the playoffs than be around this disfunctional organization!...hoping for a high draft pick.
Statistically we're still very much in the hunt to make the
play-offs.
Realistically, I just hope we don't get overtaken by buffalo and finish the season in the cellar and still get saddled with Philbin for another season.
I respect the fact you're a dedicated fan -- albeit IMO overly optimistic and a tad delusional in terms of your topic content -- but that's the RIGHT of every fan.
Personally I'm not much of a fan these days so my opinions need to be discounted with that premise in mind.
So if you want to subject yourself to the psychological ripsaw of having positive expectations for this dysfunctional organization -- you are certainly playing Russian Roulette with your neurons! My opinion. Of course.
