I want to get fairly paid for what I do, so I have no problem with the statement in itself. But I also know my employer expects me to be professional and give my best. That means I work at it, set the example for others, give it my all, and --- the most major point --> BE EFFECTIVE. I can be all the other things... But if I can't get the job done, all is for "0"... And that would be my value to my employer.

A player needs to understand that and look in the mirror before he makes a statement like that. I don't see him near the top of any of the league's receiving stats; so, he Has no credibility and just sounds stupid. Right now, Wallace is playing like another Ireland "bust"... And only Wallace can change that.

Chy, if that is the same Dolfan1 who used to visit the Herald, and now posts on Phinatics, I doubt that he says that based on racial issues. More likely based on the "big kid" mentality of many pro athletes. DF1 has always been straight with me, and never been disrespectful due to my being black...

I think he says it because when interviewed most NFL players don't sound too smart.

I don't know if he is a racist, but his comments and insight are not only insulting but also very short sighted and simple minded.... To group NFL players the way he does, is ignorant...

TO say any group of people would or should be in prison, who aren't is an overwhelming sign he lacks any logical insight.... The fact he says it, as if he is trying to give others insight, is delusional...
Generalizing any group of people the way he does, proves while he might not be a racist, he is definitely a bigot... Which is no better.... Bigoted opinions of others, is no better then a racist...

One only has to ask themselves why, to understand, how shallow his existence and outlook on others appear to be... I feel sorry for him, must be a sad, painful existence to have that type of outlook towards others, day in day out.....

but I think berk nailed it right. Even if based on that, people are not "too smart" are not the same as criminal and that is a very "bigoted" thing to say, which is much worse than racist.

A racist statement is directed at a race of people but a bigoted statement such as those who get poor grades are synonymous with being criminal is more than awful.

These people are hard working people who may not work in science labs but are the backbone of not only our society but every society of the world.

We owe our advancement to those who are "too smart" but we owe all of our civilization to the average Joe and indeed the below average Joe and I'll bet if you go back in your own genealogy, whoever you may be, you will find one of these "not too smart" people who you probably praise as being key to the success of your family.
