You will get no argument from me that RT has missed Wallace on some of those downfield passes (ala vs T
, but...
Wallace has dropped far too many balls this year. As I said before, it seems unless the ball hits him right square in the chest or hands, he can't catch it. He also doesn't fight for balls (ala vs T
. He is depending on his speed, and that's it.
Do I blame Wallace? No, because the whole league is aware that the deep ball is Wallace's game, with a few short routes thrown in there for good measure.
I am suggesting trying to trade Wallace based only on his contract. Miami isn't getting what they paid for. Get another guy with good speed and Miami would probably get better all-around production from him.
That is just a suggestion, where I know it can't happen, again because of that contract.
Hopefully, if Miami can (somehow) shore up that OL for next season, RT will have a little more time where he and Wallace can start clicking on a high percentage of downfield passes.
