Big Ben was the most successful rookie QB ever, going 13-0 in the regular season! He also won a playoff game. Then he won a SB the following year.

That is correct and the steelers kept Ben on a tight rope that year to. Ben did not 'explode' until his 4th year in the nfl. Compare his numbers from year 1 to 3 to his 4th year and you can see the difference.

I could care less about Tanny's stats. I just want him to WIN!

He also called his own plays. Something completely unheard of these days. Bob Griese called the offensive plays, there were no helmet radios, they didn't send in plays via a substitution or even hand signals. He most certainly took the team on his shoulders, very successfully.

??? There was clamoring from the fans for \Flutie all through Brees' rookie season and Flutie replaced Brees a few games in to his second season ????

As others have stated Rothlesberger was OBVIOUSLY (stat wise and otherwise) a franchise QB from his first year. As far as Rodgers, Brady and others who sat BEHIND ESTABLISHED TOP TIER STARTERS a few years...that is a moot point, once they got their chance they showed what they had and it didn't take 3-4 years. I want us to win or at least compete...I don't care WHO the QB is i'm just sick of the excuses...blah blah bla Offensive line...blah blah blah...no running game...blah blah blah...coaches...blah blah blah...drops drops drops...blah blah blah...give the 'kid' time...ugh.

Correction, Chyren - Griese relieved Morrall during the playoff game against Pitt, then started the Super Bowl.

Glad you agree with me on this. And we are RIGHT. Sounds like MOST of the posters on this site agree.

"He locks on the receivers before the snap"
"One example from yesterday. before the snap he decided to throw to Matthews on a little curl. The defender wsa on him another one read his eyes and almost jumped the route, incomplete. Meanwhile Wallace ran a 7 yard streak and turned around, his defender kept going, Wallace was wide open, but Tannehill had already decided where he was going to throw it."

Even with all the things I don't like about T-hill, I don't agree with this. He did this last year, but it seems he's much better at it this year. Even though he seldom has time to make all his reads, if you watch his head he looks at as many as he can. I think its one reason he holds the ball too long, he takes too long to check his options. As for the pass mentioned, it was a quick pass and by the time Wallace was open, the ball was gone. Maybe T-hill shouldn't have been so uncharacteristically quick on this one.

Rick
