I think they'll try hard to establish a running game today to slow down the Bills pass rush

Bill's pass rush ranks 3rd in the league in QB sacks which suggests that this game might be one of our most difficult rather than a sure thing.
I was reading Dave Hyde this morning and what I found interesting was that one of the coach's bye week moves was to take all the TVs out of the training rooms.
Evidently Philbin doesn't want the players distracted and instead wants them talking to each other, hopefully, about football.
We'll have to wait to see how this all plays out but, if the players view this move as punishment then the coaches may well be losing the team. Hopefully the TVs are also being removed from the coach's offices and the move results in more talking among the coaches about better play calling and improved halftime adjustments.
It just seems a little silly and clueless.

I have been focusing on the Oline play all season. One thing I will continue to point out watch Pouncey calling the blocking assignments, those guys look confused. In the run game the left side is equally as bad as the right.In an entire game there might be 3 or for good seams for a rb to run thru. I am still wondering how a good talking to is going to improve Clabos game. He simply stinks. When Martin beats the blocker to the postion and gets his legs under himself he usually contains his man. That is if his man does not have the power to run thru him. Jerry and Incog are equally vulnerable to stunts and I have seen both of them give up sacks on stunts by the D. This is a primary reason that I question Pouncey calling out defensive assignments. I think enough people have called out Jerry's weakness on zone runs. The DT simply beats him to the spot. On power plays where he can quickly go 1 on 1 w/ his man he is going to push his man back. Unfortunately I have some work to do today so let me know what you think.

It's a common motivational/management tactic.

If people are to comfortable in their roll/environment they are less likely to be motivated to improve.

This is why I have no faith in this coaching staff whatsoever. They really don't have the personnel they need to run their blocking schemes, but they continue to run them anyway with the results being 24 sacks, poor pass protection, and no running game.

Martin is decent at times, but is constantly overpowered. All a defense has to do is line up their biggest, strongest guy over Martin and it's Sack City. The rest of the line would probably (and did) do better in a normal power blocking scheme. But, that's not part of Philbin and Sherman's offense, so forget it. Same thing with a fullback; a big strong FB would help with pass protection and the running game, but it's not a part of their offense.

The o-line is the foundation for the entire offense. Philbin, Sherman, and to an extent Ireland have failed to build an o-line that fits their offensive schemes. If you can't execute your blocking schemes with the players on the roster, replace the players or replace the blocking schemes. All of the FA o-linemen that have been brought in by Ireland are probably more suited for a power blocking scheme, as are Jerry, Incognito, maybe Pouncey, and more than likely most of the back-ups. Since the RBs and TEs are no good at blocking, then it's imperative that the o-line plays at its best. Unfortunately, Philbin and Sherman refuse to budge from their system.

If this continues, a playoff berth will be out of the question, and Tannehill will be on IR.

When you (management) believes that a person is under achieving, having a helpful conversation with them often proves beneficial, especially when you provide constructive suggestions, rather than merely " you need to step it up." That phrase may be over simplified and presented to the media in that over simplified way. Let's hope that instruction went along with the conversation and that Clabo in this instance, applies them.

Tyson Clabo will be out of football at season's end.
