3rd and short and he calls the same play he got grilled on last week to the other side of the field. WTH? I knew right then it was going to be a long day.
He runs out of QB under center and passes when in shotgun. HELLO a NFL defense might be able to figure that one out!!
When he actually did run out of shotgun they gained some decent yards, but noooooooooooo he goes away from it and passes every freaking play.
First thing I would do during the bye week is fire him.

I can explain it. When I saw that I said, "He's saying 'Here's the finger to you guys who criticized me for doing this last week'."
Of course, proving him wrong he got the same result.
Sherman is showing that he's a poor judge at creating and calling plays. I think it's time for him to step down and retire. There has to be a good OC out there that can mix the plays up and take this team to the next level. The big problem aside from play calling is the porous O-line. John Jerry and Clabo are cannon fodder. For every sack they allow, $5000 should be deducted from their pay and donated to Breast Cancer Research. At least then something beneficial would happen from a sack.
I don't mind the offense so much, just the play calling is horrible!
ChyrenB, I think you are 100% correct on your comment about that call.
I believe if he would call more running plays out of that spread offense with Miller we would gain some yards, at least it would slow down the pass rush.

I'm not saying I agree with the calls Sherman is making, but he would (probably) look like a genius if our guys blocked and the receivers caught just about every pass that went their way. More often than not, the plays would work.

That's really the issue isn't it Cap?
I'm not a big Sherman fan because I don't think you run for balance when you have a team on the ropes, but its impossible to completely and legitimately criticize play calling when plays are blown up right out of the gate by piss poor blocking.
Sherman makes some great calls at times, it is, he is either inconsistent with his play calling or the execution of the plays are inconsistent... either way it is somewhat on the coach...

Like I've been saying -- Philbin & Sherman are unimaginative formula driven football "mechanics" (i.e., in the Baby T mold, and from the same general lacrosse wasteland geographically).
I'm getting pretty tired of Philbin's over-bloated amateur hour stand-up shtick riddled with clichés. The dude is NOT creative or dynamic in any way shape or form. He's a coordinator level "guy" and, at least at this moment in time, has NOT developed into the innovative N F L HC I had hoped for…

he runs from under center and passes out of shotgun, that is the problem.
2 times he ran that stupid wide run on 3rd and short short, just completely stupid calls both times AND he didnt learn from his mistake the first time.

THats dead on. The only thing I would add is 'predictable'.
