They had no choice berk, IMO.

They were running out of time and the majority of the players from both sides were 30-40 yards back. By the time everyone would have gotten on line, way too much time would have been lost. And you know damn well that the Ravens would have taken their sweet time getting into position.

I wasn't talking about getting sacked, Cap. On that, I'd like to see more balls thrown away though.

I was talking about the passes that WERE thrown.

It goes hand-in-hand. Continuously under pressure and getting sacked (ave 4 times per game?), tends to have a QB throwing before he is ready.

As far as the passes he has thrown, the only area I think he needs to work on is his long ball to Wallace. He needs to get that ball out there and overthrow Wallace by about five yards, with air under it to allow Wallace to run under it. Now, whether Wallace catches it or not is a whole 'nother issue.

If's funny, as I was thinking to myself while watching yesterday's game, whether Miami even practices the long ball with Wallace as it looks like niether RT or Wallace know what they hell they are doing during those type plays. Wallace looks like he is having a hard time judging the ball. I did, however, read this AM where a reporter mentioned that someone from inside the organization told him that Miami doesn't "really" work on that during practices.

Good point.

Maybe that would work.

Now,

He's never been known to drop the ball before. Well, in addition to talent there has to be chemistry between QB and WR.

Wallace has been known to drop balls in Pittsburgh. I knew this the coaches knew this. It was in the papers. All of the drops were not on him some in fairness was on Tanne. IMO Wallace has to realize he is not play w/ Ben R. anymore. In Pitt he could go to the flats sit and Ben would zip the ball to him. Here he knows Tanne is under pressure he has to come back to the ball on some routes. Again the commentators picked this up but our coaching staff has not.

First time I check this board in a while, get a good laugh at people trying to pin this one all on the QB.

No rushing game, awful pass blocking, 7 drops according to the game book, and there it is, the QB sucked.

Where's Miami Reppa to tell us how much better Cleo Lemon would have done?

You're missing the point, holic. The point is that you get the kicker as close as possible.

The line of scrimmage was the 34 yard line when the play was called for Tanny to go back and pass.

That would have been a 47 yarder.

The same as what Carpenter missed in that Jets overtime game last year.

It was a 58 yarder after the sack.

I think Sturgis was hurting or something... Most of the time he kicks balls for touchbacks... And yesterday I think he only kicked on all game..
He didnt seem to have the boot yesterday...

RT made one of the most beautiful clutch throws ever on that 4th down... But the sack the next place was horrible...

Lamar Miller isnt very good or at least developed as of yet IMO...

Wallace has to do a better job of catching the ball....

Sherman has to be a more consistent play caller...

THe Oline has to do a better job protecting him....

What is disappointing to me, is that RT has been playing pretty well, and the rest of the team is letting us down...

I had concerns about Wallace when he was a FA, and many around here, had strong opinions that he was a legit # 1.... We paid him top 3 WR money... Is he even a top 25 WR this year? Who is to blame for Wallace looking like a # 3 WR? I do agree RT under threw him a few times yesterday... Where are all the guys around here that were so convinced he was the right choice to pay big bucks and make the highest paid guy in our franchise... It sure seems mighty quiet from that group right around now....

I have ZERO issues with what we paid Wallace.

If our WR corps was Hartline, Gibson and Bess we'd be winless right now.

I am not saying we shouldnt have gotten someone else, but having zero issues with what we paid Wallace vs his contribution and dropped passes is absurd... Paying a guy top 3 money, making him the highest paid guy on the team, who will be lucky to be in the top 25 at his position in any stat, just like he was last year, is bad personnel management... OUR FA LB's and top signing at this point have been grossly over paid for their stats and contribution.... Nothing will make me happier if that turns around, but at this point it is what it is and there is no denying it...

Again. No issues with what they paid him.

If you fill your needs in FA you generally overpay.

What he brings to the table in terms of skills we can't develop internally.

What his skills force other teams to do schematically can't be replicated by anyone else who was on the market last year.

It takes time for new WR's and young QB's to develop chemistry. It takes even longer when your O-line is a sieve.

Yes he's dropped a few passes but most of them aren't hands issues. They are timing or route issues that lead to off target passes and others are just off target passes.

He wasn't brought in here to be a possession WR to make incredible one handed catches or be the second coming of Oronde Gadsden. He was brought in to use his speed to get chunk yardage and keep the defense from jamming up the middle.

He's been pretty effective at that so far, and he'll get even better over the life of his contract...provided RT doesn't get killed and we eventually get an Oline that can at least pass block.

Wallace ain't the problem.

Only this much is right.

He surely wasnt brought in and paid 60 million to drop 3 passes in one game, which we lost by 3 pts... nor rank # 46th in receiving yards with just one TD...
Sure he helps take the top off the defense and that part he is doing but for 60 million, you are suppose to get a little more then just take the top off a defense... Hell we could have signed Ted Ginn for 5 million to do that, he has 60 less yards and 2 TD's...lol...

Well, not much can be done about Wallace. Miami is basically stuck with him. No one in their right mind would trade for him with the contract he has. Miami can't cut him. The only thing left is he has to improve.

I don't know, but it seemed to me like he just didn't have his head into the Balt game, despite the number of catches he had.

I believe I read that Wallace is our 4th leading receiver.
