What is with our run defense?

Does anyone else think that our attempts at stripping the ball often lead to extra yards after initial contact? It seems to be the case to me. Are we over doing it?
Yeah the problem was missed tackles more then anything...

All things are subject to interpretation whichever interpretation prevails at a given time is a function of power and not truth.

Also Crowder, the failure to simply tackle when you put both arms around the guy. I can take a fake and leaving the tackler behind. That's football. The crafty and fakey guys have always gotten away since Walter Peyton.
What I can't stand is, unless you're dealing with Larry Csonka, you wrapping both arms around a ball carrier who is the same size or smaller and him taking you about 5 yards backwards and then shaking you off and keep going forward and that happened too much in the first half and early second half of the game.
It's rare to see anyone "tackle" anyone, anymore. These guys go for the big hits, and they normally just bounce off of the guy and the runner continues on his merry way.
With Miami, along with the above, our guys are just not in position to make the play, either because they have screwed up on their assignment or they are taken out of the play.
And....as was said on the telecast vs the Falcons, Miami's defense is out-thinking themselves. Just play ball!
