I wouldn't fall too deeply in love with Jonas gray.

He's done nearly all of his damage against 2nd and 3rd teamers.

He's promising but I won't say he's a lock yet. Could come down to him or gillislee. Especially if you keep 6 CBs.

I think Gray is a keeper. I would hate to lose him.

Dion Sims ran good routes on Saturday, could spell the end for Egnew.

I noticed the DE from Fresno St for the second game in a row. He is playing against the garbage players but is dominating the guy in front of him. Maybe he gets on the practice squad.

I see practice squad for one of these guys (Gray or Gillislee).

Highly doubtful Gray or Gillislee would clear waivers...

I wasn't really comparing the two. Just pointing out that gray isn't a lock yet.

And btw... Gillislee was a 5th. So I don't think his draft status has that much impact on his getting roster spot.

At the end of the day it will probably be easier to get gillislee on the practice squad at this point though it would be risky.

It would be risky trying to sneak either of them onto the practice squad.

Yeah I saw that after I posted. I was thinking of Jenkins as the 4th round pick.

My thoughts on RB. Miller will be our first back and if he does poorly (fumbles, misses blocks or non-existent blocks) Thomas will replace him. For short 2-3 yard gains and especially around the goal line, I expect to see Gray. He's shown straight ahead power. This would mean Miller, Thomas and Gray will be our backs, in that order. We'll all know if a few weeks. smiling smiley

To me Gillislee looks like a dude that is going to find a way to be "productive" as a pro. He's not going to blow anyone away -- but he looks like a gamer and someone who FITS the NFL.

Gray covers a need (power & short yardage) and is deceptively quick and nimble in tight quarters -- which makes him quite productive inside and capable of getting the last few yards for a TD and also 3rd down and short.

Thomas has worked on his explosiveness and seems to have realized he cannot power his way through the NFL. He seems focused and ready to handle the demands of the NFL more than before...

Miller is the most exciting "package" and has excellent speed - burst and surprising power. His "game" looks high-performance NFL style and if he matures and develops his upside is exciting...

don't be getten naughty now...

Ya know LaMarvelous Miller is a Thriller

beyond that I was digging on the 5 wide thing they got going down @practice with some serious gamers on the field at the same time -- that could be (depending on Thill) wild to watch.

I just wish Marino was 25 and running the deal -- we’d be a pretty good team then.

My opinion. Of course.

ya know -- if Marino was in this day and age he'd take about 10 minutes to prove he's the BEST QB the league.

And of course he would reaffirm he's the best QB that's ever played.

My opinion gear of course.

Thing about Daniel Thomas is the medical history of concussions, that is not a good recipe for success in the NFL. I prefer Gillislee, he just has that "something" special.

and Yeah- if Dan Marino came back with the skills he had in his prime..He would be hands down the best QB in the league.

No. I would not make him the starter. I believe Miller is firmly entrenched in that position. Just pointing out that he has been praised for playing very well which is only going to make Miller work harder.

I agree with colonel about the RB duties.

Gillislee needs to show something more in the PS games. He has had about the same number of carries as Clay. He's not playing bad but has not had a whole lot of impact IMO.

Stats that may only interest me....

Matt Moore is leading the preseason league in passing yards and Bumphis is leading the league in receiving.

Jonas Gray is 6th in rushing and 4th in receiving.
