eesti- i think you are confused with the facts or all of the points of the situation.... Cooper directed his comments at an african american security guard that was doing his job and refused Cooper entrance to backstage... He was pissed and his ego was hit, and he lashed out at the guy.... That sure sounds like it was malicious to me...

Wow. I had not heard that. That definitely changes the whole dynamic. What a DB!

The man has apologized plenty for his comment. The main stream media as always taking it out of proportion. Interesting Mario Medious president and co-founder alongside Keith Emerson of Manticore Records and according to Keith he had a sign in his desk that had the abbreviation "HNIC" which meant in reality Head NGR In Charge. The story is on the Rhino reissue booklet. Mr. Medious who by the way was from the USA and of african descent gave the title to the best album of ELP: Brain Salad Sugery. Give that Eagle a brake. Can't count the times he has already apologized. Yes, what can we say also about Blazing Saddles.

Blazing Saddles is completely different. Its a parody.

Its intent wasn't malicious. Its intent was to draw attention to the issue of race relations. Even so, that movie was made 40 years ago. Its an entirely different world now. That's not what Cooper was trying to do. So I don't see how they are part of the same discussion.

That said, Cooper deserves to be forgiven. If you've seen his interviews on the subject he seems genuinely sorry for using the word. Not just for getting caught or embarrassed.

At the end of the day, its up to his teammates to forgive him or not to forgive him. Everyone else will follow their lead.

For us, its just an interesting subject to kick around for a bit.

I hadn't heard that either. If that is what he says when he is drunk , he must think it all the time. Alcohol only makes it easier, it doesn't invent racism in your head. If that's the way it went down , I have no respect for this kid. He needs to go.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!
