Ihink the only think worse for a NFL team then too much hype/publicity in NO hype or Publicity. They have none. Zero, zip. Tebow makes a nice addition to a Team with No pizzaz at the moment.
If anyone can come up with something interesting for Tebow its Belicick though. I'd be watching them a lot in preseason ifI was the Dolphins......

I doubt it says anything about Mallett. if they were down on him they would have dealt him to Cleveland at that draft.

Belechick and Urban Meyer are extremely close friends. This seems like one friend doing a favor for another friend and giving him a shot.

At the very least it washes away some of the stigma attached to Tebow at this time and makes it more likely someone else would take a chance on him if he doesn't make it in NE. At best, he's the 3rd stringer on the one team in the league whose HC can derail the media circus that comes with this kid.

Makes some sense. Its not like the situation with the Jests. No one who is sane can argue Tebow should start over Brady, no matter what the win loss column says.

Side note: I was busy today bidding for a 2.1 million dollar construction job. I wasn't able to deal with the "echo" earlier.

But what does this say about Ryan Mallett? Nothing good it looks like.

The Tebow signing makes sense and doesnt say anything bad about Mallett IMO... Josh Mcdaniels the OC for the Patriots is the coach who drafted Tebow in the first rd against all odds.. Mcdaniels still likes him and believes he can develop him.. He just never got a shot when he was fired after only a year with him... If Mcdaniels wasnt the OC they would never have signed Tebow IMO...

Anyway, I'm glad Tebow found a team because I like the guy, but I want him to stay at third string to hold a clipboard and earn his paycheck without getting his uniform dirty. I don't want the Pats to benefit from his being on the roster and I certainly don't want him having a game against us like he did when he was with Denver.

There's a little bit of a local buzz up here about how Tebow *may* have agreed to line up as TE, with Gronk being chronically injured. We shall see.

what has tebow done to make anything think he could play TE in the league (let alone fill in for Gronk)?

Well, we've got a QB that can play WR very successfully if he wanted to.

Here is the thing with the Wild Cat. You got to have a surprise element. It works when The Person throwing the football:

A) can actually throw decent
is in every play so its a surprise, like a running back.

In as a Tight end 10 plays a game, they can pull off a hook and ladder type play to Him but I do not think Brady can block. He can kick like a girl but he can't handle any contact and they wouldn't gamble on him getting hurt. B I'm sure Belichick can design something. But this is the NFL. It might work the first 2 times but he needs to keep Tebow fresh or he will get stacked. Should be exciting though. Saprano's offense was about as exciting as sitting in a dentist chair.

JC- why did you respond to me this way? I was just curious, I posted the Tebow story with a link, then eesti, then Truth posted. When I logged back in my post and eesti's post were completely deleted. And Truth, the 3rd guys to post the story was the only Tebow topic left... Normally the threads are merged together with the earliest of the post being the first post ... It didnt happen this way, and my post was deleted... I was just wondering what happened and why my post and SI link was deleted...

If I had to guess I'd say he deleted it because he disagrees with your position on the Brandon Gibson thread.

People are reading way too much into this signing, especially referring to Mallett.

All it says is that NE may have some special packages that would involve Tebow. He is a 3rd stringer. A lot of players are signed to fill roster spots or to just see what they can offer. Tebow just happens to bring fanfare with him wherever he goes. Mallett is Brady's backup; pure and simple.

Would NE trade Mallett? Very possible if the right deal came up. But, I don't think that will happen (this year) because Tebow has no clue as to NE's offense where Mallett could step in and play well if need be. Next year is a different story. If Tebow plays well and is still with NE next year, we will probably see Mallett traded.

But for this year, it is what it is....Tebow is the 3rd string QB and Billichek will see what he has to offer.
