Don't drink too much of the kool-aid Crowder.

The media doesn't directly benefit from Sun-life being upgraded. As long as there is a team in S. Florida, they have jobs.

Whether or not there is an awning to protect the fans from the elements has nothing to do with them.

Ross is a Republican also. Its not like he has to back a democrat to take a run at ending this guys career.

I just read a really good point about the Dolphins and the threat by Dee, they might relocate if sold and why it is total BS...
FIrst off the reason the Dolphins are worth so much money is because of the stadium and land the team owns..Most franchises do not own the stadium they play in... They are one of the only NFL franchise's where the owner actually owns the stadium... What sense or value would the team have, if you relocated the team elsewhere and this huge piece of property no longer had its biggest tenant... Why would it make any sense for Ross to kill his biggest tenant at his own property... Sure if the State or county owned the stadium the threats make sense, but to kill one of his greatest values, and make the stadium empty, would make zero sense for the guy that owns the stadium....
Pretty laughable really when you think about it... The property has value because of the Dolphins, take the DOlphins away the value is slashed.. He is a developer, he knows this...

Thats funny, I would hope he sells the team ASAP, so south Florida can have a better partner in the owner... As I posted above, the team isnt moving, The Dolphins own the stadium and property, moving the team would destroy its value.. Because a huge part of the organizations assets is the stadium and surrounding property. The best tenant Mr Ross or the new owner could have for their property and facility is the Dolphins.. Moving them would be cutting off the nose to spite the face... It makes zero sense..

It might make sense for an owner that doesnt own his own stadium and surrounding property, to possibly move, but not the other way around.. There has never been an NFL owner who owned his own stadium to move that franchise to another city.. It isnt happening... It is almost laughable to suggest otherwise.. Use your head, it doesn't make sense on any level, other then as a threat by an emotional scorned billionaire, who has nothing else to threaten for not getting his way... So extortion is the next play, I guess... Please Mr Ross sell the team... At least the next owner would be smart enough not to make such an illogical threat... I am willing to bet what ever amount of money you want that the DOlphins are not going anywhere, whether Ross owns them or not.. It kills the value of what is actually owned...

haha. There isn't an owner in the league who has offered a more fair stadium deal to his city, and most of them will never host a Super Bowl. They are just paying for the honor of having a team represent their city.

He's also poured more money into his team than any other owner since he's been in the league.

Do you think guys like that grow on trees?

Sure you may get someone who doesn't want to associate with celebrities or would be savy enough to bypass the orange carpet idea, or even pick a better logo.

But you aren't going to find many uber rich guys who's first priority isn't money.

Ross isn't moving the team. He's said that over and over.

But you are missing the boat if you think moving a team to another city will destroy its value.

it all comes down to the stadium deal they get on the other end.

If its LA and the new owner gets a sweetheart deal that nets more than he looses selling the properties in S.Florida then he doesn't destroy anything. He improves the value of his team. And FYI, no owner moves unless they are getting a better deal than they have now.

heck, they could hang onto the properties in S. Florida for a few years to see if another team looks to fill the void in Miami.

That's the snap shot today. But if you use your head, things change.

SunLife stadium is a depreciating asset. If they don't put any money into upgrading it, eventually its not going to be worth squat.

The more it depreciates, the faster moving onto a better situation becomes viable.

As for the land, that will always have value. Even after the Dolphins have moved off of it.

Just and example: If the Stadium and Land are worth 300M now and LA comes along offering 50% ownership in a $1-1.5B stadium whats the better deal?

Staying in a depreciating asset in S.Florida with no community support?

Or moving to LA, adding $500-750M in equity (or more) to your bottom line, plus the new revenue streams associated with moving, and the money from selling your depreciating assets in S.Florida?

Do you really think it doesn't make financial sense for an owner to move the Dolphins in the next 3-7 years if such an opportunity presents itself?

Right now you have an owner who isn't about the $. He's a fan willing to overpay to win in Miami.

And you want him to sell...

Part of me hope he does sell and they do move to LA. Fans like you deserve nothing less.

What I posted was the ESPn reporters take and words, not that of any politician trying to spin.. The issues were intertwined, from the senate bill..

Robert Kraft built Gillete Stadium privately in 2002..

I said Ross or the new owner...

Exactly why the arent moving, you said it yourself.. Ross owns the stadium, he is not going to get a better deal then that without spending a billion dollars...

Yeah that is brilliant business plan eye rolling smiley

Yeah because it makes sense for the owner of the asset to eventually let it be worth squat... You keep missing the boat, Mr Ross owns the asset, not anybody else.. Having it depreciate hurts him more then anyone else

Sure but never close to the value it has while having the Miami Dolphins as its tenant... It is not like we are talking about prime real estate..

So now the true motive of your argument comes out

That was a decade ago and only after plans to build larger facilities in Boston, Hartford and even Providence (with public monies) fell through.

Then there's the fact that it was not a facility that was built to attract Super Bowls.

Its an apples to oranges comparison.

And even so...Kraft looked into moving to THREE different cities before he settled on being the king of foxborough.

Yes. Which is an attempt to smear by association.

New ower could move.

Ross has repeatedly said he won't.

How does that put them on equal footing in your eyes?

You do realize he can sell his properties in S. Florida...right?

That if he nets more equity in the new deal than he loses in that sale its a good business model, right?

>

He's already taking a loss on the team.

Do you think he can't make use of that as a tax write off in his vast business empire? besides...We aren't talking about him moving the team.

He's not going to.

We are talking about the guy who buys the team from him. That guy isn't going to be married to the facility the way you like to think Ross is because he'll be buying it from Ross for pennies on the dollar. That is if the facility isn't upgraded. And we all knbow that's not happening now, and who's to blame for that.

>

Whomever moves the team doesn't have to make a profit on the land. The sale of that is factored into the overall equation. If he gets a sweet deal on another facility that more than offsets the "loss" on the current property he's be a fool to stay.

Really?

You think that's my "true motive" for a discussion on this subject?

I would LOVE to see Ross look into moving the Phins else where in Florida. He has Ties to Sea world. he is a world class developer. There are Huge quantities of open land out in central Florida. Start an infrastructure. Create communities, Transportation, schools, jobs , Hotels. It could be the best Superbowl destination in the NFL. Orlando Dolphins. It would be awesome.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

That's an interesting idea that I never thought of before, wouldn't all three florida teams be relatively close to each other? and wouldn't it be the same politicians approving the funding?

Truth to the contrary you just don't get it and obviously you just don't want to get it with your argument on the matter.. It makes zero sense to move the team, Ross and everybody else know this.. The fact that you are buying it is pretty ridiculous.. Even Ross and Dee know it is BS and just a manipulation to attack the politicians who didn't give them tax payer dollars.. You are just acting gullable enough to buy the BS they don't honestly believe themselves.. Talk about dedication...lol

Yes. That's why I was saying I'd wish the Jags would head West. Give us the whole East part of the state and then some. With the amount of Homes/schools/jobs and tax's created by the project the politician's couldn't refuse.

Weatherford is lying. He cozied up to the former House Speaker, moved into his garage apt and married his lobyist daughter so he could get into the business. You can bet he has some other shady side deal with another company that wants those dollars.
