My satisfaction with us going with a pass rusher so early goes back to one game in particular. How many third and longs did we have the colts in last year only to see Luck sit back in the pocket for what seemed like hours and find an open receiver for the first. I know our D backs weren't stellar, but even the best defenders can't cover a receiver forever. Cam Wake was our only legitimate sack threat. How many double teams did he have to fight through last year? Hopefully, that's changed and I won't have to see opposing QBs scanning the field for what seems like hours anymore.
Agreed. Outside of Wake, the cupboard was bare when it came to pass rushers last year. Hopefully, Jordan makes Wake better and a better pass rush makes our dbs look better as well.
That definitely was the case with JT and Thomas. JT was so quick off the snap. It made Thomas , Madison, and Surtain all better a what they did. And we have Wake. Could be a pretty sick combination.
I really like the move. Defenses go to another level with 2 very good rushers a la Taylor & Armstrong or Taylor & Ogunleye. Or Freeney & Mathis or whomever.
