davehydesports I'm told the Dolphins entered draft loving T Menelik Watson. Question now is if they can get up to get him as he'll be gone by 54th pick.
Traditionally it would cost pick #82 but teams (other than Vikings) are using a modified draft value chart so Irealnd may have to give up less. A 4th round pick maybe?
The 2nd round starts off like this....
1 Jax (already drafted a T)
2 SF (don't need a T)
3 Phi (already drafted a T)
4 Detroit (REALLY NEED A T)
We would have to trade up with Philly to get him. They had better be damn sure about him otherwise I would use 54 on Albert.
San Fran has too many picks this year. They are going to punt some of them to next year.
Would you send our #1 next year to San Fran for #34 (2nd pick in the 2nd round) to take Melenik Watson?
If I thought he could start at LT this year, I might make that trade.
Our 1st next year will likely be in the 20's. Watson will have a full year under his belt in our system before the player we'd take in that spot would even see the playbook.
We could then trade our 2nd for picks next year...possibly even a #1.
Would you rather trade one of our 3rds for Albert, or give up a 3rd (essentially costing us two picks) to move up for an un-proven rookie project? I say trade for Albert (but not our 2nd)

Works for me, but my question was based on the premise of moving up for Menelik Watson. If we can stay put and get a good OT at #54, i'll be sh*tting in tall cotton (my wife hates that cliche!)

I don't have a (real) problem with giving up pick 54, but Miami has other options at OT. At this point, I would give up one of the 3rds and a 7th.
I am just not comfortable with having to pay Albert $9.8M per year. That is elite tackle money, and Albert definitely not elite!
