Elam's closing speed, size, run stopping and tackling ability is elite and makes him perfect for our system, especially the closing speed.. IMO.. Cyprien is good but he played for FIU, Elam did what he did in the SEC against the elite talent in college football week in week out...

Elam is short

Cyprien, Rambo, Swearinger, Thomas, JJ Wilcox are as good and can get later

We have other higher priorities than safety

I agree that our first rounder should be a defensive Player with Star potential. We have the Nucleus to be one of the Top Defenses in the NFL. Along with a solid Offense we would be a Force to be reckon with.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

I dont think any of those 3 players have a shot in hell at even carrying Elams jock strap.... Elam is a potential pro bowler, the other 3 are fighting to make the team... ELams closing speed and tackling is second to none in this draft at any position...

I think you might be looking at this one through your Channing Crowder/UF sunglasses.

Not saying Elam isn't a player. In fact, I'd be very happy if he ended up on our roster after a trade down or as a 2nd round pick.

But he's far from the only safety in this draft who has pro bowl potential, and he's a lot closer to some of these other guys talent-wise than you might think.

Unless you have a crystal ball nobody knows if Elam, Vacarro or somebody else will be the best safety in this draft

The Seahawks have the best secondary in football made up of a first, two fifth's, and an undrafted player

You could be right, I just watched a lot of this kid, and he is one hell of a player... To me he is the best tackling safety I have seen come out in probably a decade... With where our picks are, it will be a longshot if we get him. If we draft Xavier Rhodes or any of other CB instead of him, I will surely have a SMH moment... and yes I do have a crystal ball on this one and Elam will be by far be the best safety in this class.

If we take Rhodes at 12 I'm changing my signature to:

"Time to Fireland!"
