I think this regime takes a player that their familiar with. Ryan Swope does not make it out of the 2nd round, and he ran 4.34 at the combine enough said.

Outside of concussions, why is Swope a reach? He was tremendously productive in college (over 230 catches the last 3 years). He's 6'0, 205. He's known as being smart, tough, with good hands, and a very good route runner. He tied for the 2nd fastest WR at the combine. He had the 3rd best 10 yard split at the combine. He was tied for the 5th best vertical leap (with Cordarrelle Patterson). He was tied for the 6th best standing broad jump. When you look at all of the measurables, he graded out as one of the top 5 explosive athletes at his position. I would agree that the concussions are concern. But, from a talent and physical skills standpoint, he is not a reach in the second round.
His college production rivals that of Tavon Austin and is better than many of the so called 1st round or 2nd round WR's like Keenan Allen. Swope has 24 TD's to Allen's 17. Swope averages almost a full yard more per catch than Austin and the same as Allen. He has two things no other WR can offer. Chemistry with RT and knowledge of the offense.
The only top WR to average much more than 12 ypc is Terrance Williams (16.4). He had 18.9 ypc in 2012.

Totally agree mark.
Outside of the concussions, he's every bit as good as anyone in the group of guys ticketed for that 2nd/3rd round area.
Well Sherman knows him better than anyone so we will see
After yesterday Im not tsure I buy these 40 times
They had Steve Williams unofficially at 4.25 then changed it to 4.42
but they had the superimposed video that showed he was a step ahead of Milliner at 4.37?
Concussions are always a concern in the NFL. Just ask Jahvid Best

The unofficial times were provided by NFL Network's Charlie Casserly doing hand times with a stopwatch. That's why they are unofficial.

Agreed, and the second round is where he will be drafted. There will be a major run on WRs in the first two rounds based on those 40 times that were put up during the combine.

It matters.
That's not to say he can't have great hands with small hands but its just harder. Smaller hands means you tend to be a body catcher. That doesn't work as well in the pros as it does in college. The extra time it takes to secure the ball gives the DB's time to close windows that are already smaller.
I wouldn't take him of my draft board, or necessarily drop him because of it, but its something I'd be wary of enough to factor it into my thought process on him.
I didn't say it didn't matter. I said 1/2" difference for a guy with a reputation of having good hands is not as big of a deal as some are incenuating.

Right, if the guy can't catch, don't matter how damn fast he is. We need a breakaway guy that can catch, and that goes for DBs too. I saw them throwing balls to dbs at the combine. Most of them dropped most of the balls.

He (supposedly) isn't pro-ready, but that speed will intrigue some team that has an abundance of draft picks (SF) to take him earlier than what you said, something like the 3rd round.
