That's the way I took it when you said it.

No question.

One of the best seasons ever by a young QB.

But comparing the season of a guy who has gone through one season, one off-season and two training camps to a guy who has gone through one season and one training camp isn't comparing apples to apples.

Welker was awesome here. I knew it was a loss for the Dolphins, and of course I was right....again.

Obviously the Patriots knew it too because they were willing to pay the price to get him.

Bess is the same type player as Welker and some of you want to get rid of him. Simply amazing.

He's not. Bess does not have Welker's burst or acceleration. When Welker catches a pass in the open field, there is a moment of panic, because he is so quick and can accelerate so quickly, that he can turn it into a big play despite his lack of long speed. Bess does not have that burst. He can make that first guy miss, but he's not a threat for a big play. And Welker was a 4.6 guy coming out of college, and Bess was a 4.7. There's a big difference there. 4.7 guys get run down by LBs, as we have seen with Bess many times.

I love Bess. But, as long as he is a featured part of our offense, there are limitations to what we can do. He needs to be no more than the 3rd or 4th pass catching option. And if he is the 4th option, is he worth $3M per season? My answer would be no. I wouldn't give Bess away, but if some contending team really needed a slot WR, and was willing to give up a 2nd or 3rd round pick for him, I would probably do it.
