Bess was a steal, as will WR Brandon Tate UNC

A surefire first-rounder entering 2008, Tate unfortunately he tore his ACL on October 11 against Notre Dame. Some NFL Draft experts have him going undrafted. I think it will depend on his showing at the combine. If he has a good showing he will get back on the draft board. If he is still there in the 4th or 5th rounds and we fill other needs I hope Bill gives this guy a chance. NFL Network's Mike Mayock reports that he is "hearing" Brandon Tate will be able to take part in the NFL Combine, and still has Tate atop his senior wide receiver rankings and expects him to run a sub-4.5 forty in February. No senior this year is projected to be taken before the latter part of the first round. If you have not seen him in action check him out on Youtube. He’s one of those guys you envision in a Dolphins uniform when you watch him play.

If we get the guy in the 5th, 6th or 7th rounds, then I think we should take a chance. The problem with Yatil was the fact that we drafted him in the 1st round.
Drafting Green still makes me ill. He had the speed, size and hands to succeed in the NFL, but was a big injury risk. To see his career blow up on the first day of his first training camp was so disappointing.
Do you know that Green is only 35? If he had been healthy we could still have him on our team!!

Yatil had a lot of hamstring problems coming out of college if i remember correctly. Nothing mayor. I remember he was considered a risk though.

I really don't see much more upside out of Bess. I don't see him having the physical tools needed. He is not much of a threat for yac which is why he is not a good punt returner.
He has great hands and knows how to get open on short to intermediate routes but is not a deep threat or a home run hitter.
Welker was quicker and did gain yac yards.
I could see Camarillo being a great slot guy but I don't think Bess will beat him out for the #3 spot if Ginn produces next year and we add another #1 or 2.
It was impressive to come in as an undrafted free agent and produce the way he did but... I just don't see it.
Parcells & Co did a great job with the draft last year, but Miami will have to find more skill players and improve on the D & O line if they’re going to get better in 2009. Tate is going to be a guy you want to give a chance in the late rounds of the draft because of his upside. Who is the steal of this year’s draft? The one everyone looks over and he ends up becoming a Pro Bowler….. Thro a name out here that you think would be a steal in the late rounds of the draft and let see where they end up…. I’m sticking with Tate!
