Out of the game and we don't give Reggie a chance to make his 1000 yard rushing season.

He had plenty of chances but, couldn't get it done.

Let's see. Before the last play, Bush had 8 yards on 7 carries. On that pace, they would have needed to give him 28 more carries to get there, and they probably didn't feel there was time for 28 more rushes.

I'm with ChyrenB on this. There was, what, 25 seconds left on the clock at the end? More than enough time to let him run to the line and make a shot at the last ~17 yards he needed.

He had "chances," if that's what you consider repeated calls to run up the middle despite the giant wall that wasn't cracking all day...

Yet on that last play.....so who knows if he had gotten more runs late in the 4th quarter. Surely the Pats were playing the pass.

If you are winning comfortably, you worry about helping guys reach personal milestones. When you lose, personal milestones are irrelevant. If you have a coach that worried about getting a guy a personal milestone in a loss, then you have the wrong coach. It's not a game about individuals.

I'd agree with you Mark IF we were still in the game which we weren't on the last few series of downs.

You couldn't possibly be more right about this Mark.

As long as there IS a team and a team goal, it's not a game about individuals. That's true. That's why we played Griese in the SuperBowl after Morrall had led us to a perfect record. It was about the team and playing Griese was a decision for the best of the team.

But when there is no team goal, it is a classy thing to go after individual goals. It's not a classy thing to not only NOT give Reggie the ball on the last series of downs BUT TO LET THE CLOCK RUN OUT WHEN WE COULD HAVE RUN ANOTHER PLAY GIVING HIM A SHOT.

I just feel you guys will back this coaching regime no matter what.

Yup. Never liked how they treated or used Reggie. Don't try to understand it. It's a Southern California thing.

1000 yards is a nothing milestone anyway. if bush is upset that he didn't get 1k yards, he needs to look in the mirror. I am glad he didn't get it, hopefully drives down his fa price

Seriously?

You guys are nuts.

25 seconds left and you want us to hurry up and run a play or two for Bush to try to get 1000 yards on a day when he was getting shut down, not to mention the fact that we were losing 28-0? W

When did this become about Reggie Bush?

What happens if Pouncey shreds his knee or pops an Achilles on that play?

The sports world ridiculed Brett Favre for handing the sack record to Michael Strahan at the end of a game on a meaningless, unnecessary pass play.

What the F do you think they'd have said about us if we risked other players health in a game we couldn't win for a meaningless, BS regular season "milestone".

Reggie danced and Cha-Cha once two often rather than plunge ahead in previous games. Missing marks of self accomplishment happens all the time. All of us second guess what we should have done, should of thought of, should have tried. Things just happen that way. None the less, there was time for Reggie to make one last ditch effort to run up the middle for the extra yards he needed. It's unfortunate that he didn't get that one last try before the clock ran out, but this is life. It's small potatoes in the big scheme of things.

If Reggie is a Dolphins again next season, I hope the team uses his talents better than they did this season. If he's not with us, I hope he succeeds with another team, especially when and if playing those despicable PATS.

Okay. But by that logic, we risked the same potential injuries by not just simply "taking a knee" on all remaining plays until the clock ran out. Right??????????????????????????????????????????????

Really not that big of a deal but I think, now that you bring it up (and I hadn't thought of that) it does show consistency in a lack of class.

I am far more forgiving of players than I am of coaches and management.

Did anyone see Adrian Peterson taken out of the game with 17 seconds left and only 9 yards to break ED's record? At least Peterson had a legit chance to break off 9 yards, after running 199. Bush couldn't do squat all day. If you want to complain about Bush, how about that?

Tough shit. This is a team sport. Guy can't keep his hands on the ball. I hope they go in another direction this season. I'm sick of his fumbleitis.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

this is a stupid thing to complain about.

1000 yards is averaging 62.5/game.

big deal.

Does anybody remember when Ricky Williams had an incentive in his contract where he got a LOT of $ for making a milestone (don't remember whether it was 1000 or more). Wanny played him in and they gave them the ball a lot in the last couple games so that he could reach that milestone, get the extra $, and be happy as an individual.

SO guess what happens, Rickey gets the money, then later quits the team and blames WANNY for putting him in too often, even though Wanny did it as a favor to Ricky so that he could earn the extra $.

How'd that work out for the team back then?

I agree with the earlier posts that Reggie had 'chances' earlier in the game and that you don't want to risk injuries for reasons like that.

It's Karim Abdul Jabbar all over again! I remember running tons of stupid rushing plays just to get him 1000 yards. Glad we're not doing that anymore.

reggie needs to become that 3rd down back from the past like nathan was. he's more valuable catching balls out of the backfield.

no no it was actually WORSE than that. Our trade with NO said that if he gets 1800 yards the price goes from a 1st and 3d to 2 firsts. What does that idiot Wanny do? Anyone with a brain would try to make sure that RW didn't get 1800 yards, but Wanny the buffoon kept feeding him the ball over and over. Cost us a 1st round pick. I remember at the beginning of that season Wanny said that if RW got 1800 yards we'd probably win the SB so he'd be fine with losing 2 1st rounders. Well he got his 1800 and we missed the playoffs. I hate Wanny more than every other coach we've had put together (CamMoron is second)

Adrain Peterson couldn't run behind the Miami line that played yesterday. We were getting stuffed by undrafted rookies. It was pathetic.
