Marcus Thigpen in the slot.

Egnew in two TE sets with Fasano as I suspect we will be trying to run the ball.

I could see Mathews stepping up. Binns may be a better red zone guy as well as a slot receiver.

I wonder if this is their way of getting the young guys in without looking like they are trying to get the young guys in.

Especially against the Bills. Won't be able to do it against New England.

Could be...but I think priority #1 for this staff all year has been the development of Tannehill, even at the expense of a win or two this year.

I don't see how your premise is consistent with that, or why they would purposely set him up to fail with so many new pieces instead of give him a chance to build on his successes from last week.

Now both Hartline & Bess are having back issues, and here we are on the threshold of a wildcard playoff spot. I doubt there's any conspiracy going on with a possible playoff spot at risk.

Did okay last week against a two win team without Bess, but it's pushing it now against a division opponent without Hartline added to Bess's absence.

Well I guess it's time for the "others" to step up. We'll see how hungry this team is for a post season, and how well this team is coached. I think they still have a chance this week against Buffalo, should be interesting.

I don't know what is going on. Bess, Hartline, Carpenter??? WTF?

I don't recall seeing Hartline or Carpenter do anything to tweak or injure themselves?

I do not see any value in sidelining Carpenter....and Bess' injury created space for other WR's, and Clay's created space for Egnew....so really there is no need.

And I can't see any player willingly being 'fakeinjured/benched'...it is just convenient timing to get the young guys some playing time.

Injuries catch up with a team--all teams. I'll bet that a lot of guys are in much need of an extra week to feel better physically. What better time to let a bench warmer get a shot to start when winning or losing doesn't mean a whole lot because the team has no ticket to the post-season "dance."

Fred Jackson is on IR, a lot of other players are out too.

I agree...I think it's good to be able - through the normal course of the rigors of the NFL season - to see what back-ups can do now and to help the team in the future.

I want them to win against Buffalo Sunday, but this increases the difficulty and adds a new element of interest. I'll go out on a limb and say that we'll be pleasantly surprised by the performance of the collective fill-ins.

We stomped the Jets in the rematch after getting our butts kicked the first meeting. Now it's time to do the same to Buf and NE!

The only problem with what you said, colonel, is that the coaching staff, at least on the surface, still believes the team has a shot at the playoffs. They won't do anything to jeopardize those chances.

I personally can guarantee there will be no playoffs for Miami this year (with NE being the last game). I don't care if NE does sit their starters, Miami doesn't have enough to beat them.

That's my only issue with the coaching staff - they haven't given enough playing time for their "future" players, so there is no way they will know what they have until the off season starts.

Guarantee, Ireland will be drafting those positions, as he probably figures none of them are good enough, otherwise Philbin would have been playing them.

I highly doubt we will see Marshall, Moore, et al next season.
