People really need 2 stop talkin bout tradin for him, people who say ill give a 2nd rounder and ted ginn for him are RETARTED, YOU DONT KNOW FOOTBALL!!, just because ted ginn is a wr doesnt make it an even trade along with a 2nd rounder...its gonna take atleast a 1st plus a 2nd rounder, then we have to sign him to a contract extention and pay him around 10.5 mill per season, i know we were 11-5 but dont get ahead of yourselves, were still in the rebuilding process, every one is sayin how we need another corner back, guard, and a nose tackle....why trade those picks for a WR? then give him all that money....WERE NOT TRADING FOR HIM, GET OVER IT, JUST BECAUSE HE WANTS OUT OF ARIZONA AND NAMES MIAMI ONE OF DA 31 OTHER TEAMS HE WILL PLAY FOR DOESNT MEAN WE HAVE TO GET HIM, if any 1 disagrees with me, you seriously dont know football
The constant talk about Boldin reminds of all the talk about trading with Dallas last year for the #1 pick, virtually impossible last year and highly improbable this year!
To go one step further, I think our own Greg Camarillo is very comparable to Housh. If you extrapolate his stats for this year, he'd have had 80 catches for 892 yards and 3 TD. The Bengals throw to their WR in the end zone a lot more than we do, so it stands to reason that TJ would have more TDs in his better years. Their size is very similar. Greg's 5 years younger.
Now, is that a reflection of the makeup of the offense and the team's offensive approach? Or, would we throw more in the end zone if we had a receiver of TJ's abilities. I personally think it's more about how each team approaches offense than the fact that we don't have a TJ on the team. If we had a Moss or a T.O.,then I think there's an argument about the player making the offensive approach different. But with Housh, I'm not sure.
Disclaimer - the Bengals are one of the teams I watch the least, so this is purely looking at stats to measure performance/value.
not a fan of Boldin. He is ALWAYS hurt. And once he gets his big-pay day you can rest assured he will ALWAYS be hurt cause the big money will be in the bank. No motivation

I think TJ would play Split End as he does in Cincy and Ginn will continue as Flanker. I am not sure if Ginn still plays that position now or not but I think he does and he did play it at Ohio State. It gives him a better chance to avoid the jam at the line.
This would allow Camarillo and/or Bess to play in the slot.
So he could still be a "number 2", so to speak but would still have the ability to draw attention from Ginn.
So, TJ is not technically a #1 but is actually more of a possession receiver that can also stretch the field with yac and big plays.
I believe Irvin played Split End so TJ would be our "Irvin" with Ginn being our "Harper" at flanker.
So as with Dallas, Irvin was the possession guy/endzone guy as well as the "playmaker" and Harper was the deep threat.
or maybe Irvin played Flanker...either way I think it would work. Some teams don't even use this terminolgy any more...like Mike Martz who wants all of his WR's to know all WR positions so he can create mismatches. I know historically, the Flanker was a better blocker because he was on the strong or running side....but not necessarily in today's game.
I feel like I've learned something today, then. Thanks!
It also makes me realize that the Cowboys of that era had a TON of talent to work with on offense. Three hall of famers (if you believe Emmitt will make it in) at their three skill positions. A truly dominant OL. Top-tier FB and TE... Jeez, that's pretty much every position on offense.
Why would we want to give a couple of round choices for boldin. Isn't boldin close to his 30s already?
We are rebuilding guys. As much as we all hate to admit it, we are rebuilding. We are getting younger faster stronger.
Draft a wide receiver either in the first or second round.
We need.
WR Pennington had nobody to throw to against the ravens. Bess...Finger.
DT Ferguson is getting there in age.
CB because we are really old at this position.
LB Need another pass rushing LB to compliment Joey Porter.
OL Our starters are OK. Depth needed.

QB We have two. When Fabre retires the jets have none. Lucky us!!!!!
Brady coming back from a serious injury. Cassel gone to another team or
franchised. Whats a coach to do. If they let go of cassel and brady falter which im counting on it, the pats are screwed. BUFFALO BILLS Are QB less 2.
RB We are OK there. More than OK. Exellent.
TE We are Ok here as well.
