Good point about resigning hartline or else he is going to go to the pats.

I'm inclined to let Bush leave. But I'd take him back on the cheap (2 years at $2.5 per or less)

Hartline is a must. He's our best WR and he won't cost huge money.

Long for the right price and contract but he's likely gone.

Smith for the right price also. Not paying him shut down corner money. I'd pay him a little more than Marshall's $5 mill per but not much.

Clemons, Fasano, Garner, McDaniel are all worth bringing back at the right price (reserve money).

Starks should be brought back also but he's going to cost more and should be in that first tier.

Out of this group I re-sign Thigpen, Devlin and Murtha as reserves.

The only two guys on those lists I'd overpay (a little) to keep are Hartline and Starks.

That is a huge amount of players to replace or resign. Probably 11 players that are UFA's from our active 45 roster with 3 more that are RFA's.

11 starters or rotational players!

16 UFA's and 7 RFA's.

We could end up with an entire different team next. This is Irelands last chance to prove he can add better players than ones that were added when he was sharing the GM duties.

My wish list roster....involves a trade down from #13 to add an extra 2nd rounder and a trade up from the 2nd round. We give up 2-3rd rounders and end up with two 1's and two 2's.

QB Ryan Tannehill
RB Bush (FA), Thomas, Miller, Thigpen
FL Mike Wallace (FA)
SE Brian Hartline (FA)
SL Davone Bess
TE1 Tyler Eifert (R1a)
TE2 Charles Clay
LT Jonathon Martin
LG Andy Levitre (FA)
C Mike Pouncey
RG Incognito/Jerry
RT Jake Mathews (R1b)

LDE Wake
DT Starks (FA)
DT Soliai
RDE Vernon/Odrick
SLB Misi
MLB Dansby
WLB Burnett
CB Smith (FA)
CB Xavier Rhodes (R2a)
NCB Marshall
FS Tony Jefferson (R2b)/Jimmy Wilson
SS Jones

Most teams turnover 25-35% of their roster every year. 23 guys with contracts expiring. We'll re-sign 6-7 and look for upgrades for the others in FA and the draft.

Frankly, it should be more than 15-20 players being let go considering we are about 9 months into converting to a west coast offense from a ground and pound ... And we are changing our defense from a 3-4 base to a 4-3.

I like your draft picks but how are you acquiring the extra 1st rounder without giving up one of our seconds?

I also agree to resign starks. He is definetely a game changer for the phins.

Gotta keep the good ones.

Must sign first tier players:

Reggie Bush RB UFA...he might need to take a bit of a pay cut but he's more than good enough to be a playmaker for this offense.

Brian Hartline WR UFA...should be retained period.

Jake Long T UFA...should be franchised, but we need to obtain a possible replacement.

Sean Smith CB UFA...should be retained period...but we need to draft a big-play compliment.

Pat Devlin QB RFA...we will need a young, talented back-up.

Lydon Murtha T RFA...we will need quality depth on the O-Line.

Marcus Thigpen RB RFA...too valuable on special teams.

Must sign second tier players: (each are good, solid depth players, or starters with some weakness)

Randy Starks DT UFA...I like him but, I think we should be looking for at least one pass rushing upgrade at the DT position...

Chris Clemons S UFA...don't think he makes enough plays to be starting and we should try to upgrade via the draft but he's a good situational player.

Will Barker T UFA
Nate Garner T UFA
Tony McDaniel DT UFA
Jason Trusnik LB UFA
Austin Spitler LB RFA

Players we could/should let go:

Anthony Fasano TE UFA...he's not enough of a play-maker and we need a big play upgrade at TE. (In fact, Egnew needs to start the rest of the season at TE IMHO.)

Ray Feinga G UFA...we could, and should upgrade him.

Jonathan Freeny LB UFA...we could, and should upgrade him in this years draft.

Bryan McCann CB UFA...we could, and should upgrade him in this years draft.

Matt Moore QB UFA...I'm comfortable going forward with Tannehill and Devlin...then drafting a late round developmental prospect.

R.J. Stanford CB UFA...we could, and should upgrade him in this years draft.

Marlon Moore WR RFA... we could, and should upgrade him in this years draft.

Jonathon Amaya CB RFA...we could, and should upgrade him in this years draft.

Jeron Mastrud TE RFA...we need a big play upgrade at TE.

It's definitely going to fluctuate but he typical entry level contract is 3 or 4 years. So you are going to have 4 or more draft picks cycle through this process every year. More if you draft well.

You can add (FA) Dashon Goldson to my wish list. He plays FS and hits like a SS. He can play either position which is what this defense dictates.

I think they should re-sign:
> Reggie Bush RB UFA
> Brian Hartline WR UFA
> Jake Long T UFA
> Sean Smith CB UFA
> Randy Starks DT UFA
> Anthony Fasano TE UFA
> Nate Garner T UFA
> Jason Trusnik LB UFA

They will likely tender:
> Marcus Thigpen RB RFA
> Pat Devlin QB RFA
> Marlon Moore WR RFA
> Austin Spitler LB RFA

> Matt Moore is gone regardless.
Agreed. Gone. He wants to start and someone WILL give him a shot.

and Andy Levitre with Incognito moving to RG. That gives us a more athletic left side with a pulling guard and center and Martin at LT, who with a full off season can add the muscle he needs to be a quality LT.

Incog to compete with Jerry.

LT Martin
LG Levitre
C Pouncey
RG Incog
RT Jake Mathews

If we can pull that off it makes Bush less of a priority because Miller and Thomas hit the hole quicker and could be excellent behind this line. Resign Bush at a discount or let him walk. It would be great to have him but only at a fair price.

Marcus Thigpen is a RFA so I would get him resigned instead of tendering him. I would like to see him play the slot more next year. He's a threat every time he touches the ball. He just needs more time at WR.

Resign Hartline and draft Terrance Williams, Wr.

Hopefully Egnew makes a huge jump next year.

Goldson is a hitter

Pick up:

Goldson
Chris Ivory
Jared Cook
Mike Wallace & Danny Amendola or Julian Edleman

Ireland may be looking at out own FA's differently after the season is complete and considering how well they fit our systems.

Reggie Bush RB UFA: Has done nothing to hurt himself. Probably on track for a second 1k season. Will most likely be offered similar or slightly less contract to what he has now (4.87 mil yr)

Brian Hartline WR UFA: has earned a contract. Made 1.31 mil this year and may decide to take less to stay here. A raise to 4 mil a year maybe.

Jake Long T UFA: Likely history

Sean Smith CB UFA: He may not fit the zone scheme. He is ranked as the leagues 76th best CB. He is good is man to man but got toasted for 6 TD's in zone. Nolan Carroll is actually ranked higher (71). He may just not even get an offer as we go toward a zone CB. probably better and cheaper options out there. Smith may get a big offer from a man to man scheme defense.

Randy Starks DT UFA: Has fallen from 5th to 9th over the last month. He has a negative run stoppin grade. A good DT but both DT's play has fallen off. Solia's drop off may have contributed to Starks play. Solia is actually ranked 31st but I question that ranking. He is a space eater as opposed to a tackler. He probably frees others up. May not be able to afford Starks long term. This will be his last big contract so he is probably gone. He makes just over 4 mil a year. Will be 30 next Dec. so he may be declining in next few years. Odrick as a replacement?

Chris Clemons S UFA: Ranked as the 18th safety. Not a play maker but solid. Can probably get him back at a fair deal.

Anthony Fasano TE UFA: Could probably afford the all around TE who is solid but not spectacular.

Tony McDaniel DT UFA: Play has dropped off in the 4-3.

Matt Moore QB UFA : gone

Jason Trusnik LB UFA: Has done well in replacement of Misi who is not good vs the pass. Only two LB'ers worse than Misi in coverage this year but he is still ranked as 11th 4-3 OLBer.

Marcus Thigpen RB RFA: Future slot WR? 2nd best returner in the NFL this year. Sign this kid.

Like it or not we may be drafting or signing a FA DE, DT and OT this year.

Henry Melton is turning a stud in Chicago with 6 sacks and may be an option since he will be in the same contract range as Starks and is 26 yrs old. He wants to stay in Chicago though.

Olivier Vernon has 25 tackles, 2.5 sacks and is rated 31st based on his 364 snaps, but he has a -4.0 pass rushing grade... has just seven quarterback hits, and 11 hurries.

Cincy is looking for a game changer to team up with "the law firm" for next year. They want a speedy, "big play back".

I think Reggie is going to get a big payday next year and not in Miami.

SD will also be looking after Mathews has proven injury prone.
