watching other games, it seems the good teams always have a nice screen play they run 3-5 times per game, where the rb slips out of the backfield with blockers in front of him. Why don't we ever run this play? you'd think bush would be great at this

We try one or two screens per game, and they always get blown up. We havent been good at screens since the days of Tony Nathan.

thing with the screen, it is most effective versus blitzes. Teams dont seem to run too many blitzes versus the phins, that's your explanation in a nutshell.

There was one play yesterday where Reggie lined up as a wideout and was covered by a linebacker. Tannehill threw the ball his way but the pass was behind him.

Bush can beat that coverage every time. Why wouldn't we go back to that play?

Tannehill hasn't been accurate on screens either.

We need to have mobile O-Linemen, but the big (fat) and slow ones Parcells brought aren't suited for running downfield and staying in front of the RB.

DK--I suppose you'd be in favor of switching Tannehill to WR--he has experience there, doesn't need to catch errant passes from himself, and then maybe the Fins would have a deep threat. However, Matt Moore wouldn't be able to reach him. There's always something. What can I say. smiling bouncing smiley

Victor--who is left on the O line from the Parcells debacle? Just Jake right?

I was thinking the same thing the other day.

Incog and Jerry just aren't athletic.

It really doesnt take too much talent to be accurate on screen passes.

thats the least of my worries.

My main worry is that he gets out of this year healthy. Now with long out.
Not that long was doing good at all but hopefully martin can hold his own
at LT and become a full time starter next year.

Martin has potential and pouncey might become a star...Other than that...the 2 guard position needs to be taken cared of in the draft and the RT as well.

I have asked the same question. I think Montequi's answer is the most likely explanation. Our big slow o-lineman (left overs from 'project big') and the lack of any monster blocking TE's.

Bush has been getting blown up behind the line of scrimmage alot. Ricky Williams was always great at that. So was Ronnie Brown. Tanny was a reciever and shown skills.......they ought to set him up for a few of those in desperate situations.
