You don't challenge a spot when you are losing late in the game unless you are 1000% sure they missed it by a mile and it forces a punt.

Otherwise it's a waste of a challenge and a time out. Spotting the ball is the most subjective thing a ref does.

It wasn't late in the game, it was in the first five minutes of the game.

Yes, spotting the ball live is subjective. Spotting the ball under review is not. That's why he should've thrown the flag.

I misunderstood what play you were talking about. Thought it was on that last pats TD drive.

Anyway...its still a bad idea to challenge a spot unless its going to force a punt. Its just too easy for a ref to say its inconclusive evidence when it comes to changing the ruling on the field.

I'd be very hesitant to waste a challenge on that unless it was likely to result in a change of possession.

This goes double when it is the Patriots. You know the Refs will always make "judgement" calls in their favor.

I was talking about the first pats drive after we botched the punt. 3rd down, the ended up a yard short. Should have been a field goal

Yup, I think I complained about that in the game thread.
