Hartline makes a great #2 opposite Bess. We need to resign him and get a speeder to stretch the feild. This has to be a priority to help Tannihill continue to grow. Along with another lineman of course. I liked what I saw of Thigpen as well. He has shown playmaker ability.

If we are signing guys just to keep them from going somewhere else we are done.

Might as well turn out the lights and lock the doors.

Seriously, if we are making decision to hand out millions of dollars to players and "we should do it to keep him from going to the Jets/Pats/Bills" factors into the discussion/decision in any way whatsoever then the people making the personnel decisions should be fired and terminated and the franchise folded out of sheer embarrassment/incompetence.

I love hartline's game and think re-signing him is a high priority, but either he's a good fit for what we want to do talent-wise and financially or he is not. Where else he could go if we pass couldn't less relevant to whether he (or anyone) is a good fit for our future.

It was assuming he's a pretty good fit considering he missed the entire off season then came in and put up 1200 yards.

If you sign a quality player from your division you accomplish two things. You get a quality player and you weaken your opponent. That is pretty commonly known.
