Once again, you are full of it.

In 1998, his rookie year, Peyton Manning finished the year with 26 TD passes. Right now, Tannehill has 7. He won't sniff 26.

In 1998, Payeton Manning was in the top five in passing yards per game. Tannehill is 20th.

In 1998, Manning also led the league in pass attempts - more attempts would lead to more Ints by percentage. Right now, Tannehill is ranked 21st.

Tannehill isn't throwing the ball nearly as much as Manning. And when he does throw the ball, he is not nearly as productive. Anyone that compares Manning's rookie stats to Tannehill's and says that they are similar is clearly delusional. They aren't even close.

If your point here is that, because of his lack of experience, Tannehill will need a couple years of seasoning before he becomes good, then we agree.

At the risk of giving ChyrenB what he wants - this is my core point about Tannehill: Why waste a top ten pick on a guy who clearly will needs 2-3 years to develop, and then will likely be a free agent once he is developed?

It seems you agree that he will take years to develop. What we disagree about is that it wasn't a waste of a top ten pick.

I guess its worth saying I suck because we disagree about where to pick a QB?

It's exactly what you inferred but you are trying to evade the response with semantics.

You just want to imagine I said it. Keep dreaming. Maybe one day Tannehill will become Peyton Manning. But I doubt it.

Top five in yards per game, 26TDs, let the league in attempts. I stand by my statement those numbers are quite good.

That you argue this shows how off the rails you are on this whole thing.

Now did manning have some rookie issues? Yes. Were those the same rookie issues that every QB has? Yes. But clearly, when a rookie is throwing 26TDs and in the top 5 in yards per game, he has talent. Those are numbers that show a potential for greatness.

I'm not seeing those numbers from Tannehill.

You and a few others seem to think Tannehill is destined for greatness, and take offense when I point out that there is no statistical evidence to back this up. So I ask, what exactly do you see in Tannehill that makes you think he will be great? Is it his numbers, or just your gut feeling?

If its your gut feeling, then you should probably stay away from stats. They will prove you wrong.

> The whole point being it is too soon to judge a
> rookie. Anyone with any credibility knows this.

Anyone with credibility can look at Peyton Manning's numbers, then look at Tannehill's, and acknowledge they are very different.

And, as I said above, I think we agree that Tannehill will take time to develop. If you think Tannehill will become good after 3 years, fine. But why did we waste a top ten pick on a guy who will only be good for one year before FA?

And yet again you are ignoring your original statement. You said "at the end of the season". he did not score 26 td's at the end of the season.

Yes and you are the only one on this entire planet that is right in their "scouting profile" of Tannehill. We should just ignore all the former scouts and GM's and just take your word for it.

And you are comparing him to one of the best QB's of all time who had twice as many starts in college as RT. I am not knocking Manning just making the point AGAIN that it is too early to judge what he will end up being.

AGAIN...I never ever said that. I said it is TOO EARLY TO TELL the entire story. It hasn't been written yet. You on the other hand have said that is a bust before he even got on the field. You don't think this is arrogant and uninformed?

So I ask, what exactly do you see

It is not a gut feeling. I don't pretend to have some magic sensor. I, unlike you, realize there are many things at play and I look at the big picture. You had him pegged as worthless from day one.

Those are your projections. They can tell after 30 starts if he is going to make it. He is only at 12 right now. Even if it took 3 years, you don't let him walk at that point. That would be incompetent. I don't care if you have to franchise him. You don't let a franchise QB walk.

I will say this, your rant shows you changing your position about 4 times.

Looking at your signature, I'm just going to assume that you have some long standing grudge against me (who know why?), and your only point is to harass me rather than get to some truth on the issue.

He has made quite a few Gems in the last few days that shows how desperate he's become . The Ray Lucas gesture for one. Calling Ryan "Talentless" is just another of a long list of non factual completely absurd comments made by a disturbed "desperate " individual. Each game it will get harder and harder for him to state his case and hopefully then he will just dissapear .Or I'll beat him into the ground every week. His choice.

Still waiting for you to make 1 factual reprasial to any of the posts I've made. You spout numbers, numbers numbers. look at that Passing rating. OK. I've shown you several sets of numbers that tell otherwise about Ryan Tannihill. And you give us.....he is Talentless.

you are a joke and fooling nobody. you sit at your screen looking for one mistake and you hopelessy blow it up to try and make a point. But he is supposed to be perfect......like YOU Mr I don't know the difference between Ronnie Brown and Reggie Bush.

Do your self a favor and go away or change your attitude. Your ride will bet increasingly bumpier from here on. cool smiley

You are wasting your time eesti.

Trolls don't think rationally and they don't care about facts. They bcherry pick stats to "prove" their point and they only care about causing mayhem. They distort your statements to set up straw men positions they can easily defeat. They resort to insults while claiming they are being persecuted for their opinion. Then they whine that you are obsessed with them or stalking them when you call them on their bullshit.

Comparing yards per game is meaningless.

Manning averaged 6 passing attempts per game more than rt. that's 42 yards a game more, or 672 yards more a year just from play calling by the OC not production or talent.

For an accurate comparison of the two look at the AVERAGES per attempt and per completion as well as their completion percentage.

Manning completed 56.7% of his passes. He averaged 6.5 yards per attempt and 11.5 per completion. He had a passer rating of 71.2

RT has completed 57.9% of his passes for 7.0 yards per attempt and 12.2 yards per completion, for a QBR of 72.3%

The only stat that manning is ahead of RT in is TD%. His was 4.5 and RT's is 1.9

It's impossible to say how much of that difference in TD% is production related, influenced by play Calling, or a result of talent of the player and his supporting cast.

All we can say is manning threw td's at a better rate than RT so far, and that RT COMPLETED A HIGHER % OF HIS PASSES FOR MORE YARDS PER ATTEMPT, MORE YARDS PER COMPLETION AND A HIGHER QB RATING(so far).

So you found 1 chink in the armor. You searched and searched for 1 stat that the great manning had over this rookie kid with only 14 starts in college. Yet you still call him talentless and compare him to Ray lucas? Did you get your jollies today? Are you running into a dark closet with a lapTop to make these posts so no one else can see you?

Pat White?!? Dude you are out there. I think I mentioned Pat White once and said he suck. You've been mentioning Pat White ever since. That is kind of funny.

As for Ray Lucas - Right now Tannehill is no better for this team than Ray Lucas was. Not that I'm a Ray Lucas fan, just observing that Tannehill looks a lot like Lucas to me. I know that hurts you. I know it hurts you deeply. But I can only tell the truth.

I ask you again. Has Ray Lucas ever had a 400 + yd rushing day?
Any Rookie records? Is he even half as athletic?

Just saying it does make it so. And it further proves all of our points. Your a douchbag. And not even a bright one.

Not true. I was very nice to your mom when you were born.

You guys dont like what DK says and that he says it so often. But other people hate on Jake Long or Reggie Bush and it is fine. I agree that DK could try and stay away from the subject so much but everyone wants to bait him all the time. This post was directed at him to bait him then everyone wants bash him for responding... It seems to me a bit like a set up for a public lynching.. I get why everyone is frustrated with DK but I also see that alot of people here like to bait him and bash him constantly... So the guy responds. Who cares what DK says, why does it bother so many of you so much that the focus is taken off of football into bashing him and hostile commentary on topics.. I am not trying to defend DK, but trying to get people to realize that they have just as much blame in the communication break down. When we stick to football discussion and leave the bashing out of it, there shouldnt be a problem no matter what someones football opinions might be... take or leave it, it applies to me as well as I get frustrated with others here at times, just like the rest of us.

You don't like what I say about Tannehill. So what?

Since I've been on the board, you've said you've wanted me to die in a car accident, you've implied I'm gay, you've called me a douchbag almost every post, and now you go after my mom - who is a saint.

You clearly have anger/hate issues - this is clearly more than Tannehill. So I haven't taken it personally.

But you aren't too bright, are you?

Think of it this way - you have no idea who I am. None whatsoever. You've posted on this forum, your picture, where you live, what your name is, what you do for a living.

You then go around and insult random people's mothers. I could be anyone - someone you work with, a judge, your next door neighbor, maybe I go your church.

Yes, you are an idiot.
