What dropped balls? Bess had 1, didn't see any others.

The QB missed two wide open deep passes, and then overthrew Hartline who was open deep in the endzone at the end of the game.

To missed missed big plays, and the fumbled punt beat us today. Defense played great

You seem to be happy about Tanny's failures and unhappy about his successes. (Which far outweight the failures).

Proof Positive you are not a Dolphins fan in any way .

just some pathetic loser with no life that keeps coming to a place where no one, I challenge you to find ONE person that agrees with you or even respects you. What does that say about you? Its really sad man.

Tanny is the Furture. he has proven it time again. Today was a great learning experience for him on his road to greatness.

get Help.

Tannehill is just not very good. He missed Hartline opened 3 times. The one play he hit him open late in the game he almost threw Hartline out of bounds.

The Bess "drop" was a high throw behind Bess.

Tannehill's Poor Day

Tannehill was as responsible for this loss as anybody. He made rookie mistakes, didn't seem to be on the same page as his receivers for much of the game, gave the Patriots a short field early, missed Brian Hartline deep twice when he was WIDE open, and led the offense to too many 3-and-outs late in the game to take any of the pressure off the defense (a battered and injury-riddled defense), so that they fell apart on the last drive. It certainly wasn't entirely the lack of offense, but it was a major contributing factor.

There were more drops and catchable balls not caught than one.

But it's the old classical saying, Tannehill was "more sinned against than (he) sinned."

Yeah, Rick but are you saying he was SOLELY responsible?

That's DolfanQueen's point.

Had he not made mistakes could we have won?

ABSOLUTELY!

Had OTHERS not made mistakes, could we have won?

ABSOLUTELY!

What does that get you?

Only the conclusion that we lost as a team.

You are wrong on two accounts:
1. I'm happy about his successes.
2. Right now, his successes do not far outweigh his failures. He has a losing record and a sub-70 QB rating. But he is a rookie.

I'm still waiting, dolphin.......................

edited to add: And how does Henne figure into the conversation?

You can have a good quarterback and lose as a team. Ask Tom Brady about losing in the SuperBowl.

It's looking like you are the one who is illogical.

Well folks, it was close, and NE had to earn this victory. While the Dolphins' offense is still firing on 6 rather than 8 cylinders (metaphor) the D kept it close. The bottom line is we lost to a better opponent today. NE was finally able to put enough effort to run the ball and mix play with some passes to ice the game in the last few minutes of the game. The offense is still immature in terms of being able to come from behind with only a couple minutes remaining on the clock. Tannehill is key to being able to pull that off. He's not there yet. But...I remain optimistic that he will be able to orchestrate drives when the game is tied or we are behind by a few points.

The primary thing on offense is we are still with few playmakers. That ingredient is still missing.

BTW, I don't know why some of you guys keep referring to what Chad Henne could have done or did do etc. Irrelevant subject. Move on.

I want to point out something. Cameron Wake is in hot pursuit and did a wonderful job today. However, he tired late in the 4th quarter. We need to have another pass rusher either to relieve him or to pass rush from the opposite side. Wake can't pursue for a full 60 minutes of play and be effective.

Good point.

Fireland did draft a defensive lineman in the first round. But that D-Lineman hasn't done much to present a pass rush.

I don't trust the GM making decisions with all those draft picks next year.

Despite not having the weapons, Tannehill had chances to shine and didn't. Those attempts to Hartline - the two long passes and the one at the back of the endzone - missed. And they were missed not because Hartline was not open or dropped the ball and not because the pocket was collapsing on Tannehill. Those passes were missed because Tannehill simply didn't execute on the opportunities he had.

I'm not seeing what other people are seeing here. Tannehill picks the right target, but doesn't always get the ball there. And when I see him making these decisions, I wonder how much of that is natural talent and how much of that is Tannehill playing in an offense he is familiar with.

Can someone explain to me why the Dolphins did not game plan to take advantage of one of the worst pass defenses in the NFL? They should have Tannehill throwing down field, if we are not gonna make the playoffs, lets see what the kid can do!!!!!

Then again, it seems like the RT has really gone down hill in the last few weeks. I guess it's because teams know how to game plan against him now, and he's become gun shy. He looks really scared out there. He did not have that look at the start of the season.

Did you miss when Tannehill did throw down field and was just off target?

Dolfanking, have you ever heard the expression beating a dead horse? Yes we all know your feelings about our starting QB (who incidentally will be our starting QB next year whether you like it or not). Let it go, man. Maybe you need an intervention?

While I'm here posting facts - stats - accurate descriptions of what happened during the game, the best that people who disagree can come up with is to attack the messenger. Something tells me what bothers you more isn't the messenger, but the message. The truth hurts.

There are people who consistently compare Tannehill to Marino. I don't know why people accept that kind of nonsense and BS. Maybe they just forgot how good Marino was - I don't know. What I do know is that nobody challenges these people. Nobody says - your wrong, you insult Marino by comparing Tannehill to him. Nobody claims those people who repeat nonsens with no basis in fact that they are beating a dead horse and need "intervention". Funny, because the people comparing Tannehill to Marino are clearly delusional.

You should be happy that I'm sticking with facts. Fact - Tannehill wasn't hitting open WRs today. Fact - Tannehill has a sub 70 QB rating. Fact - Tannehill has a losing record as a starter. Not nice facts, but you should be happy that I'm sticking with the facts rather than just making crap up.

All of the other posters on this board except for a precious few have been doing "an intervention" on DK. Does no good. I've labelled him previously as being "medical" when it comes to the subject of Tannehill.

At one point, I tried to take him just for the comedy he represents.

But when we are playing my most hated rivals, the HOO-WAH Patriots, I just can't take it today.

Fact, he's a rookie with 19 starts in college playing for a team that's rebuilding its roster with arguably the fewest genuine playmakers in the league. As for your stating facts, my God we've heard the same thing from you over and over again. Yes, we all get it. You're not a Tannehill fan. Can we move on? Don't you have any opinions about the defense, the running game, the o line, the game plan? My God just move on. You're like a broken record. Please respond with something other than Tannehill stinks.

Well here is the problem....

I've said many times today that the defense played very well.

I've said many times that I support the game plan and coaching, I think its solid.

I've said many times that I do not trust the front orifice when it comes to rebuilding this team.

Everyone seems to ignore these posts, and lock on to my opinions about Tannehill. Why is that? Why are people only bothered when I mention Tannehill?

I can only guess that I'm hitting close to home.

If you can't see how repetitive your Tannehill diatribes are, you either are playing games or are in denial. Any time you're tempted to post some anti Tannehill comment, take a deep breath and know that we all know what your opinion is. No need to tell us again.
