Bush dancing into Wilfork's gut. How imaginative.

The first series of 4 downs was really bad. The long snap to Fields was shoe top, and then bobbled by Fields resulting in a short run and putting NE in great position to storm the castle. At that point I thought about going into the garage and hitting my finger with a hammer just to have a distraction from the game. eye rolling smiley However, I turned to my son, and he smirked and just shook his head.

As it turned out, the blowout by NE that I expected, failed. The D did a pretty good job. The big defensive let down was that long 7-minute drive in the 4th quarter (on the ground) that sealed the game for NE.

When the Dolphins can do that to an opponent we will be a legit contender.

NE had the ball 7 minutes longer than we did...an extra half quarter. Our defense was on the field too much.

The first few series were HORRIBLE play calling IMO. Nothing but three yard outs and off tackle runs with a 190lb RB. Good Grief! WHERE is the 'Offensive Genius' Philbin was supposed to bring?

I will admit it got better later on though.

It doesn't help when you start the game with a dropped pass and then follow up with a short throw.

It would have been a game changer if Tanny could have hit Hartline on the wide open deep ball

But there are two ways to look at that. Either the Offense is NOT STAYING ON THE FIELD LONG ENOUGH or the Defense is failing to stop the opposing offense.

I haven't looked so I'm not saying I know.

But I am going to go to "analyze" on the NFL.Com stats on the game and see how many 3rd and more than 10s, the Pats converted.

If you see a lot of those, then that's on the defense, not on the offense.
