Concussions!? Thats just an excuse. Total lack of character and upbringing caused him to lose his Temper with a female. Then he couldn't even handle that like a man. They he involves the entire Team by going to the training facility. Sad all around.
It's far too early to tell but he was drafted in 2009. Not the type of long term play like Junior Seau and others that you would begin to suspect some type of organic cause.
Again too early to tell but seems more like a Chad Ochocinco thing that went far beyond Chad's.
Though a retired prosecutor, I regret that the police arrived on the scene when they did. The coaches were talking to him and probably could have talked him into putting the gun down but I guess the arrival of the police reminded him that he would be spending the rest of his life behind bars and he probably shot himself before he would be taken into custody. Not saying the police did anything wrong but just unfortunate it happened that way. Had they arrived a little later, the coaches might, and I emphasize might, have talked him into putting down the gun.
Of course, there's always two ways of looking at it.
From the standpoint of the victim, she did not have the chance of deciding between death and life behind bars. Although she had not committed any criminal offense, if, in some crazy world, she had that choice, I'm sure she would have chosen life, even behind bars, where she could have continued to see her child and have her child be able to see her.
Although it is too early to tell, sad indeed but more than concussions or steroids, I would think the fault lies deeper in our entire society and male vs. female interactions. When it comes right down to it, maybe we are not that far from the Islamist fundamentalists who require their women to dress in burqas.
Horrible, my prayers are with the 3 month old baby girl that has no mother or father.... I have a 3 week old, and I just can't imagine the situation for that poor child... The guy must have had some type of mental illness for all that transpired today. NFL contract brand new baby, why in the world, what was so bad?

All things are subject to interpretation whichever interpretation prevails at a given time is a function of power and not truth.

I'm not making an excuse. I'm just saying this case will be thrown into the mix as these discussions continue, that's all. Because he killed himself without being evaluated it'll probably never be proven one way or another.
They may analyze his brain as part of an autopsy or something like that, who knows.

I agree 100%, what a D-bag for leaving his 3 month old without a parent, if things are that bad with your girlfriend, you walk away, you don't fill her full of lead. No sympathy for this guy, heart pours out for his girlfriends family, his family and especially his now parent-less daughter.

Again, too early to know since we have no facts of the fight with his girlfriend but that just may be the point!
It seems that more today than in my day back in the 60's, men are assaulting women.
Today, the word "macho" has more relevance in our society than in the 60's.
We are becoming more like the Islamists in being infuriated at any assertion by women of their equal rights.
More American males see it as a threat to their manhood.
Very strange to me because the ratio of women to men is about 8 to 1, I heard.
If a woman is giving you problems, just move on to the next one.
But, however, back to the "NFL contract" maybe the guy figured that with all he had "going for him," how dare the woman give him any flak about anything.
Again, we don't know at this point but his very status may have made him think he was being more "disrespected" than if he was just "a regular guy."

I hear ya. Those looking to further that agenda will probably say that's why he did it. I think he was just a Moron. Then he has to involve the rest of the Team and make them wittness him killing himself. What a selfish bastard. Hose down the sidewalk and move on.
As far as the child goes.......that makes it even more horrific.

Could be just here in California but I thought it was the United States. 8 women 1 man ratio. The world I don't know about.
