Oh well. It looked like a "maybe" for a while. But then it turned into another wicked ruse by the football gods. Face it. This franchise is cursed.

Talk about a football team with a split personality? Wow. Somebody better test the water at the training facility because there's got to be some chemicals involved.

No doubt. This franchise could lose the few remaining fans they have. It appears "no one cares." That kind of apathy leads directly to ruin.

I see this place emptying out as well.

The negative deadheads have much to celebrate.

Y'all take care.

I never really expected much this year anyway, though I'll admit they had me looking through aqua-colored glasses after the jet game. My main concern is that we have lots of picks in next year's draft and we're relying on Jeff Ireland not to waste them. I'm hoping that Philbin has a lot of input because for whatever reason, I trust him more than I do Ireland.

BNF--c'mon man. I know it's hard to be optimistic about things, we can only hope the players and coaches learn from losses.

Nobody expected this current team to be a play off contender. What we really hoped for was progress. Progress is seeing the pieces of the puzzle be assembled, sorted, and put together wisely. We aren't foolish, and we shouldn't think that the coaches are either. They see what we see. The problem is that with the talent and depth chart (current) we don't have all the pieces on the table to sort and assemble. Too many players are just average when it comes to their NFL abilities.

If you were to gather in all of the players now actively playing there would be a "bell shaped curve." In the middle of that curve are the C players. As the curve sweeps to the right it picks up the 20 % or so that are not C players but B players until it drops off to complete the curve. Somewhere in that 3% of NFL players are your elites. These are the A players the top 3% of all players. You could assess each player position, and you will find there's only a very tiny percentage that are A players.

Who then on our Dolphin team is an A player? Anyone?

Lot's start with Offensive lineman?
Who is the A player? just one, Long, and he's in decline.
Who is a B player? Anyone?
Who is a C player? Incognito, Pouncey, Jerry, Garner, Samuda, Yeatman, Martin
Who is a D Player? I'm not sure if we have any here.

What about TE:
Who is an A player? None
Who is a B player? None
Who is a C player? Fasano, Clay
Who is a D player? Mastrud, Egnew

What about WR:
Who is an A player? None
Who is a B player? Bess (maybe)
Who is a C player? Hartline, Gaffney
Who is a D player? Matthews and Moore

What about RB?
Bush is not an A player--we have none.
Bush is a B player
Daniel Thomas and Miller are C players

On D.

We have no A player on defense
We have a couple of B players--Wake, Soliai, Starks
All our linebackers are C players

CBs:
No one is A or B, we have C rated players, Smith and R. Marshall are the best ones of the group.
D players--all the rest of them

Safeties:
We have C rated safeties

Add a rookie Qb to the mix who has potential to be a A player with a supporting cast that is generally mediocre and its not the right mixture of talent to be a contender.

We need more B players to contend. We need several A players to be a SB challenger.

Free agency folks--we need to bolster our talent.

I was in Hawaii for the TN game, glad i didnt stay and watch it. I did think they would bounce and beat the bills, but this season is over, time to pick up a few good players in the off season.

As much as I disagree with him, I find very little to disagree with BNF on that post. I didn't read him as saying that he was giving up.

But lookit, remember that season that we went 1-15, I followed and rooted for every game.

The thing that P's me off is that I have to wait for Sunday after next for the next game.

In the meanwhile, I DO HOPE THAT some coaching about the mistakes that we have CONSISTENTLY made over those two games occurs.

I live on Oahu but far away from the rat race of Waikiki lol!

Been to the Big Island, Molokai, Maui, & Kauai. They're all beautiful. LMK if/when you make it back this way again (send a PM) & I hope you had a nice visit here.

I used to go to the Pro Bowl every year (Watched Dan Marino play!!!) but I stopped going when the NFL players stopped playing NFL football at the Pro Bowl. Funny how they played harder back when they made less money. Then: Winners 10K losers 5K Now: Winners 50K losers 25K

This is what happens when you play a rookie QB who clearly isn't ready to play.

Huh? So a rookie QB will:

1. Cause your O-Line to play like crap
2. Keep your WRs from getting open
3. Cause your running game to be non-existent
4. Cause your defense to also play like crap

Wow. I didn't realize a rookie QB had so much influence on a team!

Of course his lack of experience is evident, so he's taking his lumps & pooping his pants. I don't think it would be as bad though if Ireland had set him up to succeed. After trading Marshall away I thought he'd be replaced...but nada. The other rookie QB's were set up better with receivers. I put the blame on Ireland for this debacle.

I had no problem with Ireland trading away Marshall and Davis. I just don't understand why he didn't replace them with "quality" players.

That's easier said than done. The trick is not to release players UNLESS OR UNTIL you already have a plan for their replacement with better, or at least the same, quality.

But Philbin and Ireland go around spending like drunken sailors, never worrying about where the next meal is coming from.

All that being said, I think the Marshall move was correct and so was THE TRADE of Vontae because we got draft choices.

However, I supported the trade of Vontae (no you idiots although I denounced the amateur way the news was broken to Vontae I still supported the trade) BUT AT THE TIME, I was confident that at least Ireland and Philbin knew that the remaining dbacks could match Vontae in quality. It appears I was wrong about that too.

Really? What has Vontae done this year that's better than the CBs we currently have? If we had kept him, he'd just be one of the pack, playing like crap.

Its easy to blame the O-Line hen yhr QB is holding the ball too long.

> 2. Keep your WRs from getting open

The receivers are open. The QB can't handle zone coverage.

> 3. Cause your running game to be non-existent

This is on the coaching staff. They seem so intent on proving Tannyhill is a good QB that they will pass instead of establish the run.

> 4. Cause your defense to also play like crap

This is just boloney. The defense allowed 12 points last week, and the offense could do NOTHING. The defense is not why the last three games have been lost.

PRICELESS! We lost 19 to 14. You concede that our defense gave up 12 points (the four field goals).

Do the math.

Without that we win 14-7.

Does your mania even ALLOW YOU TO SIT BACK AND THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU ARE SAYING?

Dolfanqueen obviously knows what he is talking about, in his own little world he lives in.
I am not sure why he chooses to watch and root for a team who obviously sucks and will not be a contender until dolfanqueen is able to make the decisions in the front office and on the field.

I for one nominate him for fan of the year

I disagree with Wake. He's an 'A' player.

Other than that your list was spot on.

I have zero confidence in Ireland rebuilding this roster. Hopefully Philbin has a lot of input.

I see us making a 2-3 yr offer to Greg Jennings. I wouldn't be surprised to see more GB FAs offered similar deals. Aside from that I don't see us spending big $$$ on top tier FAs. That's now how GB has built their team and I think Philbin will follow that successful model...if Ireland lets him.

Actually Tannehill audibles into running plays often that then get stuffed.

he is being played by the defense.

he only throws 5-7 yard passes so it is very easy to cover a receiver and also very easy to stop the run.

The defense can sell out stopping the run as they dont have to worry about the QB doing anything at all.

moore played one game and had more deep completions then Tannehill has all season.
