Did anyone see this major female private part catch a punt last night and run straight out of bounds to avoid contact? Just the other day, didn't someone on this board say that he's the best return man in the NFL right now? Paleeeeeese, this guy is such a stinky you know what, he should be a spokesperson for Summers Eve!

Don't look now but, we may be playing SanFran in the SB and you don't want Ted coming at us with a Vontae type "get back" attitude.

Our special teams coverage is great and he falls down with a shoe string tackle.

He was never given a "now this is why we're trading you".....stupid, dumba_s, pompous a_s, exit interview by Ireland. Guess it was 2009 and maybe Parcells did not let that jerk Ireland DO SUCH A DUMBA_S thing THEN!!!!

But when Parcells went, with him went all the common sense and restraint on Ireland.

In a long list of dumb comments........this might be your dumbest? Ireland has gotten better in all aspects of his job by leaps and bounds since the Tuna cut bait, including public relations. Haters gotta hate I guess?

I must have missed where Dolphaholic said "Ireland was a better football mind than Parcels."

"Football mind" is a pretty broad spectrum anyway. It is assured that Bill Parcels is a better coach than Jeff Ireland...but Jeff is not a HC.

Parcels won two SB's for the NYG as a head coach but what he did not have was final say on personnel.

He didn't receive that power until 1997 when he went to the Jets where he DID NOT win a Superbowl. Actually once he starting getting total control he never even made it back to a SB.

Actually Parcels has never won a Superbowl without Bill Belichick on his staff while Belichick has won 3 w/o Parcels...so who was the better HC? That's an easy answer as history tells us.

Parcels had a FEW nice picks while he was a GM.

for the Jets...

97 James Farrior & Jason Ferguson 11th round
98 Jason Fabini 4th round but not much else
99 ??? nadda
00 John Abraham, Chad P, Lav Coles

Cowboys

03 Terrence Newman, Jason Witten
04 ??? Nada
05 DeMarcus Ware, Kevin Burnett, Jay Ratliff
06 Fasano and nothing else

The ironic part of Parcels career is how it started. It would pretty much define him for the rest of his career. The first thing he did was something that he would do to many teams, many times.....quit prematurely.

In 1979, Parcells accepted an offer to become the defensive coordinator of the New York Giants under head coach Ray Perkins but, before the season started, he resigned and took a job with a land development company in Colorado.

So Parcels had at least 10 years as a GM. The jury is stil out on Ireland.

He also was the coach when the team had an unprecedented collapse the year after their first SB win, from 14-2 to 6-9. They went from Champs to Chumps in one year.

You're confused. I was attacking Ireland and giving credit to Parcells and dolphaholic was attacking Parcells and defending Ireland.

RESPONSE: What other conclusion can you draw from his statement? I was attacking Ireland and I criticized the drafts after Parcells left and he said that the drafts were better after Parcells left. He called Parcells everything but a child of God. I HARDLY think he was talking about Parcells political views or his reputation for charitable contributions. We're talking football here and we're talking about a Club Vice President versus a General Manager.

Obviously, either Parcells did or did NOT have control of the 2008 and 2009 drafts. BNF has been constantly saying that Jake Long is a slob and was the responsibility of drafting by Parcells who was a slug of a talent evaluator. When someone above listed the drafts by Ireland, they neglected 2008 and 2009 when Ted Ginn was drafted. That brought Parcells into the discussion.

Why wouldn't they neglect the Ginn drafting? Cam Cameron drafted Ginn before Parcels got here.

My argument is this....

Jake Long is not a slug and was a good albeit safe pick.

Parcels is not as good of a GM as he is a coach...and he is unreliable and a proven quitter.

Ireland is not as bad as most people would have you believe AND he is getting better.

If you believe Ireland was in charge from day one and saddle him with 2008 and 2009 then he also gets credit for the Jake Long pick.

You inferred Ireland has gotten worse since Parcels left and his only success was due to Parcels. I took it as Dolphaholic was just disagreeing with you. Not comparing the two.

I do agree that you can't have it both ways with Ireland as to the 2008 and 2009 drafts. In fact, that was MY point. But if you read above, you'll see that the drafts discussing Ireland START with 2010. That was MY point.

Easy. It clearly says that Ireland has gotten better SINCE PARCELLS LEFT.

Deny that? No, you can't.

That means either

a) Parcells was screwing things UP when he was here

or

b) Ireland's judgement was superior and when Parcells left, that brilliance shined through.

Either way, logically you are saying that Ireland has a better football mind than Parcells PARTICULARLY SINCE IRELAND WAS WORKING UNDER PARCELLS.

My initial reaction was to argue with both points A & B.......but after thinking about both for a sec, i'd say they're both pretty accurate........see, we can agree on thingssmileys with beer

I think a more accurate version of dophaholic's statement would be that the dolphins' drafts have gotten better since Parcells left. Parcells' stamp was left all over the 2008 and 2009 drafts, as well as the entire team philosphy. Whether he or Ireland made the actual draft picks, the types of players selected (big, plodding types) were of the Parcells blueprint. They brought in a coaching staff to run the 1970s-style Parcells offense and defense and drafted players to fit those schemes. The coaching staff was also not good at developing the talent they drafted.

I think Ireland has done pretty well since Parcells left, especially now that the old Parcells coaching staff has been dumped and they brought in someone who appears to be a real head coach. No GM hits on every draft pick. The Phins have actually done quite well in recent years compared to a team like the Jets (Vernon Gholston, Mark Sanchez, & Shonn Greene immediately come to mind).

This is pretty spot on about the point I was trying to make, plus Ireland has gotten better by a large margin in his public relations since Parcells left. I'm not blaming the "was yo momma a hoe" comment on Parcells, but it is in the mold of something he would of said, I think Ireland has gotten the message from Ross to be more media/fan friendly since the The Tuna left. Which is the exact opposite of the below statement by Chyren "the B stands for Bizzaro world" b

I like Ginn and wish he was still on the Dolphins as a return man and occasional WR.

Don't know about the SB, but we will be play SF in about a month. I wouldn't expect Ginn to show he's "soft".

ginn gets a bad rap because cam cameron was stupid enough to draft him 9th overall.

ginn's 3rd in the nfc with a 12.4 avg. he has 17 punt returns. the two in front of him are at a 13 avg with 4 returns each.

he ran out of bounds. oh the humanity!

No no no... Cam didn't draft Ted Ginn. he drated the Ginn FAMILY.

And, IMO Ginn gets a bad rap because he was positioned as a receiver (i.e. more than just a kick returner) AND kept dropping passes. He had a LOT of drops.
