Jesters have beaten us and will be 3-0 in the division were they to beat the Patsies.
We have not played the Patsies and COULD, could I say, beat them Twice. Then we beat the Jesters in our rematch and assuming the rest of the schedule works out, we would be in the catbird seat.
Does that mean it makes more sense to hope for the Hoowahs to win? *Gasp*
I think we are better off with a NE victory. I changed mny stance after you pointed out the Jets division record.
NE is going to get it straight and inevitably going to end up with a better record than the... way too inconsistent Jets... so we will be competing with all second place teams for a wildcard....
unless by some change of fate we steamroll and win the division as we did in 2008....but that was also the year Brady got hurt.
Pats have the better team, talent wise and coaching wise. Therefore a jest win would be better for the phins. Not to mention keeping the inept Ryan/Sanchize/Fistpump trinity intact a little bit longer.
If the Jets beat the Pats on the road, they'd be more prone to taking us lightly the following week (the week before their bye), plus we already know the Jets are an inept team, if they beat the Pats on the road, that would signal the steady decline of the once mighty Pats. I vote Jets

It's kind of a win/win situation. Whoever loses....we win.
However, I would like to see Bart Scott, Cromartie and Rex Ryan get their big fat mouths shut but I would also like to see how the "great" Brady and the Pats handle some adversity when they start losing.
To be honest, I hope that the team could care less about what goes on around them. Just go out there and do your thing; don't worry about what other teams are doing.
Miami takes care of their own business and things should work out OK for them. They don't, it won't matter who does what in the division.
Cap, we have a bye week. All the players will be watching on TV. We won't be playing our next game on that day. So how can the players "go out and take care of business" on that day.
I know you can only play your own games but the playoffs and seedings are based not only on your won-lost record but that of others too, so it's not exactly irrelevant.
Chyren, I'm talking about the WHOLE season. Miami has a history of depending on other teams to lose to get into the playoffs (when Miami had winning seasons, that is). They need to just take care of their own business (by WINNING).
When the season gets down to the last two weeks, then if the standings are so close that someone else's losing vaults Miami into the playoffs, then I will start looking at that, and the team should do the same.
But again, if the team doesn't take care of its own business throughout the season, those last couple of weeks won't mean anything.
It is impossible for me to root for the Jets to win.... So I guess by default I am rooting for the Patriots....

I have to root for the Hoowahs. Jesters already beat us. We play them next week. If we end up tying the Jesters, Too hard for us to make the playoffs over them even if we beat them next week. We have to hope we can beat the Patsies twice or at least break even with them and win the remaining game against the Jesters.
