Myself and everybody else on this board realizes that we have the worst WR corp in the league. We will most likely have a top 5 pick, just as I said back in June.
But here is the real issue, only Robert Woods is a WR that is projected as a top 10 pick, and he is not liked by all analyst. Most people say he is not a true #1 and frankly I get quite concerned when dealing with USC WR's, see Keyshawn, Dwayne Jarrett, Pat Turner, and many others...
Anywho, there is a another position that may be as big of a need, and that is a pass rusher. We have Cam Wake and thats it.
And next year there are 3 absurd elite pass rushers coming out. Barkevious Mingo, Jarvis Jones, and Sam Montgomery will make up the greatest pass rushing class in draft history. All 3 are absolute players, and all 3 are expected to be graded higher than Von Miller was coming out.
So my question to you guys is, if you were in charge, who would you take seeing the HUGE needs we have?

I wished I could see Curly frOm the 3 stooges mule kick you in the balls.
If there isn't a stand out WR available then yes, I'd take a dominant pass rusher in RD 1, if one was there when we pick...or a dominant LB, or a great TE to hedge our bet with Egnew.

Wow you are a happy person. Random people you don't know can upset you so much over an opinion on a football player.
What is hysterical about this is that I'm speaking the truth. RT is overthrowing his WRs - they are open, but he is overthrowing them. And so your solution is to get another WR.
The is a possibility that if Tannehill keeps this up, we will have a new QB. Rather than acknowledge that fact, you'd like to fantasy about my ball getting kicked in. LOL! You got problems man.
Besides that, you seem more a fan of a single player than the team.
Definitely go for one of the pass rushers. I like Jarvis Jones the most because of his versatility and I think he can be like Von Miller in Denver. We can run a 4-3 under with
Odrick Soliai Starks Wake
Jarvis Dansby Burnett
This is the same defense that Seattle, NE, and Denver run and it is nasty with the right personnel. Did you guys see Seattle tonight?
Misi is odd man out in this scenario but he will provide better depth. Misi could also allow Jones to come along slowly and be used in more obvious passing situations at first, similar to Aldon Smith last year.
One of the other things I'd like to see us do is trade back into the bottom half of the 1st round to nab a top DB prospect. Should be able to do it with a 2nd and 3rd rounder, assuming one of our second rounders is at the top of the round.
For DB I like:
T.J. McDonald S USC- great athleticism and size, physical run defender, routinely picks up WR and TE in coverage and seldom beaten, good football smarts, good instincts, can switch easily between SS and FS responsibilities (perfect for Miami's scheme)
Tony Jefferson S Oklahoma- exceptional athleticism, great in coverage and easily picks up WR and TE, good in run support, great instincts and makes big plays often
Demarcus Milliner CB Alabama- good athleticism and size, great press man skills, tough in run support, good instincts and well coached at Bama
Xavier Rhodes CB Fl St- Great size and athleticism, already skilled in press man coverage (miami's scheme), not afraid to make tackles in run support, shut down Micheal Floyd (Az 1st round pick) last season, somewhat similar to Stephen Gilmore from last years draft
David Amerson CB NC St- Reminiscent of Sean Smith when he came out of Utah but Amerson possesses a more physical style and superior ball skills, great height (6'3", could move to S if he fills out, great in zone but has size to be very effective in press man (miami's scheme), good athleticism as well, ballhawk
Some of these won't be available in the 2nd half of round 1 but they all fit our scheme, have good athleticism, and are noted for their coverage skills in particular.
So, would you trade back up to pick a DB? Which of these do you prefer or do you like someone else?

Pass rusher for sure, it would fill a huge need, but I doubt we have a top 5 pick, top 10 maybe. Remember, G. Jennings is a FA next year and we have alot of cap space available.
Also, if everyone would just ignore DK's stupidity he might fade off into the sunset, it's obvious he's just screwing with people now, so why feed into it?
We picked Mike Pouncey at no. 15 in the 2011 draft. Number 16 was Ryan Kerrigan who went to the Redskins. I guess I would not go back and trade even if I could because we need a good center even more than a good pass rusher and I disagree with those who say that you can get just as good an offensive lineman in the third round as in the first round.
An "elite" WR (may) emerge sometime this year from the college ranks, but who knows?
Great WRs can be taken in the 2nd round on, so my choice would be the pass rusher. Have to wait, tho, to see who will be that #1 guy. Of course, Miami could be too far down the draft list to get that guy, but hopefully there will be a few great ones available when Miami's turn comes.
On the first day of the draft, I think we will focus on these skill positions....
WR, Safety, CB, DE, TE
I haven't done the research yet to see the strength of this draft, but WR would be my first choice...and then I would be looking for an Ed Reed type of safety that could lead the back end and punish the Patsies TE's.
I agree TCP, defense with first rounder for sure. We are one stud pass rusher or DB away from a pretty nasty D. BTW, Sean Smith allowed zero catches in the Jets game. He is looking good to start the year along with Reshad Jones.

Yikes, I wasn't suggesting that for the 2nd round. If a WR that we really like is not on the board in the first...I think the next player to look for should be a Safety with major pro-bowl skills.
Ed Reed was selected 24th in 2002
Troy Polamalu was selected 16th in 2003
