I think we need more. Not that much of a knucklehead but we need more bang for the buck.He might be what we need for Hartline (if we keep him) but like Hartline I am not dropping big money on this guy.
Not a chance. Not with the red flag on his migraine issues, and his repeated issues for confrontations with coaches. Pretty safe to assume that the latter means he is of no interest to Philbin.
Hopefully lessons learned about giving up picks for flawed players. The guy is a playmaker but he has never started 16 games in a season (in 4 years)...or had 1k receiving...or more than 6 td's receiving.

Harvin is a damn good player and would be an asset to any NFL team, but....
He is a head case, both literally and figuratively. Those migraines concern me. Plus, I read where he has had a few run-ins with his coaches. I highly doubt that is something Philbin would want to take on.
As Truth said, Percy is a special player... and in Gainesville he was a beast.. Without him Tebow doesn't get 2 championships.. If you can protect yourself from the migraine issue and can handle him as Meyer did, you would be a fool not to try and get him on the roster... Percy didn't have any of these problems at UF, medical nor personality.. He was known to have a lot of anger issues on the field in high school I believe.. Never saw it in college... That run Farve had in Minnesota had a lot to do with Percy as well... But I understand why some are skeptical about signing him..

I am a big Gator fan and remember Harvin well. The migraine issues are there and you just don't know when they will pop up. Harvin is used to winning and not sure if he could handle being in MIA. I think he is destined to GB, New England or SF or a team w/ a coach who is strong and loose at the same time Fisher in StL or Pete Carrol.
I'm not sure if anyone is going to give him the big money unless he stays in MIN.

I got headaches from my first high school helmet in the '80's until I convinced the coaches that this had never happened to me and that I believed it was b/c the helmet put too much pressure on my forehead. Changed helmets and I never had another headache (caused by my poor fitting helmet anyway).
I only took me a couple practices to figure it out. I'm sure that was the first thing they ruled out.
That said...I agree with Truth, for the right price, he'd be a welcome playmaker to the offense.
Was this a random thought or has there been talk of Harvin on the trading block?

The belief in New England (where I live) is that the Patriots will franchise tag Welker for one season.
The Pats are a team that could take on Harvin, though. With Belichick and Brady, they can take on a problem child and try to make him toe the line. Miami doesn't have that luxury.
Except he thinks he is god's gift and probably wants closer to 10 mil.....
for a receiver that averages 825 yards a year and 6 TD's? 170 yards rushing... No thanks....
Plus a 2nd rounder? no way I pass on a glutton of 2nd round WR prospects for an occasion big play/slot reciver with Migrains and a bad attitude and that does not respect coaches.
I would rather resign Bush and use him more as a receiver.
I don't think he's going to get it either but that doesn't mean he won't ask for it which may slow down negotiations since no team will sign him without an accepted offer.
The problem I see with him is that he could not even get along with Leslie Frazier. One of the most even keeled coaches around.
Some knucklehead Dolphins fan called Sirius NFL radio this morning and suggested we trade the freshly minted Brian Hartline for Percy Harvin, god I hope he isn't a poster on this forum.........on second thought, Chyren what were you doing this morning?
Very funny but I am famous for taking the position that we should draft Keenan Allen or Corradelle Patterson AND NOT GO INTO THE FREE AGENCY MARKET FOR A WIDE RECEIVER AT ALL.
Thank you, however, for providing me the opportunity to wear out the forum with this position that I have taken over and over and over again and I'm sure the rest of the posters are cursing you under their breath for providing me the opportunity to (as one poster put it) "sound like a broken record."

Big trade.
Minnesota gets Seattle's 1st and 7th this year and a mid round pick next year.
