What happened to Lamar miller?

Listened to the game on the radio and sounded like miller had some really nice runs after the Thomas fumble. But in the fourth quarter, all I heard was Thomas getting the touches.

what are you talking about GBOFinFan? Nothing happened to him. He's our THIRD string running back. Our SECOND string running back Daniel Thomas was still healthy and playing. Yes Daniel was guilty of an early critical fumble but hey....... he's still our SECOND string running back and when the FIRST string guy is out, you give all the reps to the SECOND STRING GUY.

Naw, I don't want to hear you say that Lamar was running much better than Daniel Thomas. I know that.

That's not the point. In this Philbin-Ireland mindset, we have to respect protocol.

First comes before second and second comes before third.

In Philbin's defense, Thomas did get to sit a couple series after the fumble. Miller wasn't that effective.

I understand some of the logic here. We got a rookie QB, and a blitzing team in a tight game. Need to play a RB that has a bit more experience. I think we will see more of Miller as time goes on.

Not playing Miller was not why we lost the game. Nor was the coaching.

How can you say Miller wasn't that effective???

5.3 yds/carry beats 3.6 yds/carry every day.

The only thing Thomas has that Miller doesn't is experience...and by judging that experience, Miller needs to play ahead of Thomas! He's another in the long list of Ireland mistakes.

Miller was very effective. However, Thomas is a much better blocker. If we are calling pass plays, our tendency has been to put Thomas in. Then our rookie QB has the option to check out to a running play.

Seems like our offensive coach got caught in a chess match and should have just stuck to what was working. Lamar Miller should have got the ball more at the end.

EDIT: There was one play where Miller almost got Tannehill in deep trouble. He ran to the wrong side of Tannehill for the handoff and Ryan had to take off running for a negative play. Miller is there physically....but, not yet mentally.

Posts like by DolfanKing make me begin to question my firm belief that DK is not a plant from another team. Any body looking at the game could have seen that Miller outperformed Thomas.

And what's that NONSENSE about "Hey, it was okay because he served his punishment for the fumble by being put on the bench for several series."

What is this? Reform school???????? We're trying to win a damn game, not trying to teach a student how to be good by sitting him in a corner during recess.

It was the height of incompetence of the coach not to substitute Lamar Miller for Thomas.

Blocking.

Miller doesn't block well, and against a team like the Jets, we need blockers in the backfield.

Putting Miller back there gives away the run.

Agree he did well in his limited carries, but the team revolves around Tannehill not Miller. Haven't you read any posts on this forum?
