Let's see how this pans out. Branch re-signed with pats. Interested to see if Miami lets another potential contributor go.

Uhhh because he came in for a workout maybe??? And there's nothing guaranteed that said the pats would have a bunch of injuries and call him back?

U think that if Miami made him an offer that he'd decline it because he wanted to sit home for a few weeks and MAYBE go back to NE?

That's quite a reach.

I pay good money to go to those games and tell Ireland he sucks. I wish Ireland would have tried to punch me.

Am I an A-Hole? Some think yes, some think no. I'm well beyond caring what people think.

Let me reiterate:
Ireland sucks as a GM.
Ross is a joke of an owner.
Tannehill is a Chad Henne clone.
This team will go nowhere until Ross sells and a competent GM builds a winner from the ground up.

Do you seriously think 18/30 for 200 yards are "superstar" numbers?

Those look like caretaker numbers.

And his 2 TDs -
1. He ran a naked bootleg where the Raiders were completely fooled. While it was well executed, it was more due to playcalling than a "superstar" play.

2. RT threw an 8 yard pass up the middle to a TE that then bounced of a couple defenders and ran 15 yards to a TD. It was clear that the Raiders defense had given up by that point - poor tackling and it looked like they were running in quicksand. That was more heat and poor conditioning on the Raiders than a superstar play.

Right now RT is a care taker QB. He had a good caretaker performance last week - basically don't lose the game and let the rest of the team win it through Reggie Bush's talent, good playcalling, and solid offseason conditioning.

But superstar? No, not even close.

And without Reggie Bush, the team likely wouldn't have had the shot at one of those TDs.

Now you're just being a hater. RT is a rookie in his second game and he played very efficiently. He's got the phyisical skills to be a great QB and based on this last game it looks like he's getting the mental part quickly. There is no basis predict he's a "Henne clone" or will suck; he's looked good and the polar opposite of Henne so far.

The naked bootleg play, was really a broken play. It was suppose to be a pass run option. Fasano was suppose to be a reciever on the play, he got hung up getting off the line, so the pass option was taken away, except Fasano got off just enough to throw a block he was not assigned to throw which helped free Tannehill.. That was a big drive, the running game defintel helped but it is big for any QB to lead his team down the field and score seven on the opening drive...
After that it took the Reggie Bush superstar to get us back going.. The TD pass to Fasano was a good ice breaker for him but not much more IMO...

I said "Right Now".

Hater- That is the typical garbage I expect when I write something someone disagrees with, but they have no fact to back up their argument.

I'm not being a hater, I'm being realistic and seeing the situation in the current moment in time. Simply I'm not taking anything for granted.

The stats support that "right now" RT is a caretaker. The game, while decent, was won because the running game was stellar. That took a lot of pressure off the kid. This is hard to argue. But you could just call me a hater and be done with it...

Or you could also have also picked up the implication that he may develop.

or you could see that the QB you insist will be a bust--likely because of his inexperience at the position--has played what you deem a "caretaker" game since he was efficient and didn't turn the ball over, as being evidence that he's actually going to be GOOD and not a "henne clone" (who no one would ever call a caretaker Qcool smiley. If you think "hater" is too nonspecific I am happy to discuss specifics, but when you call RT a "Henne clone" based on nothing, and you seem to be so excited he might fail that you see failure in success, well that seems like a "hater" to me.

Seems to me RT is developing just fine. Also keep in mind he didn't play all the way as a QB in college. Considering the way he is playing now and the potential he still has...Even with rose-colored glasses I really like what I see. cool smiley

I wasn't thrilled with it either bc I felt that was a little high. but now that he's our QB I am fully on board and actually happy if he succeeds (go figure). at this point, who cares if he was taken at 8 or 18 or 28? If he's a good QB he'll be well worth it

Except I never insisted he was a bust. I admit I was PO'd at the pick and said he would be a bust, but I backed off that comment the next day. I also backed off it several times since.

But now it seems if I don't say he is the next Dan Marino, so jerk on this board will try to tell me I'm a hater and think he should be a bust.

Whatever.

Its clear that RT isn't a top tier QB right now. You can dream and make up all kinds of stuff you want, but it is a fantasy. Perhaps your fantasy QB may become a reality someday, but right now, today, RT is no better than Chad Henne.

If you call ANYONE a "Henne clone" you are inferring he is a bust or going to be one. 13-18 record and gone from the team that drafted him in 4 years. That is a bust.

Chren has something in himself that dolphanking doesnt.

At least chren can admit when he is wrong.

And i do too...

Example....

I was against drafting tannehill as well.....in fact.....i even said tannehill was going to be a bust since the beginning.

Me and chren are very much alike. Because we can admit when we are wrong.

And you cannot dolphanking.

At least until now tannehill has done well.

Take away the second quarter against the texans in which he grew a brain fart....And other than that in 7 quarters he has done very well..

you are rapidly losing credibilty. What's the purpose of calling him a "henne clone" if not to compare him to our most recent QB bust?
I don't understand, you are pissed because he's not immediately lighting the league up? So anything less than RG3 or Cam Newton in his first 2 games is validation that he is going to be a bad QB? The book on RT was he was going to get flustered and make stupid mistakes and struggle with game speed and reading Ds because he was so inexeperienced. None of those things have happened so far.

And no one is saying RT is going to be or needs to be Dan Marino, that's just a total straw man argument. You are moving the goal post because your "bust" prediction/hope isn't starting off so hot.

I've been saying the same thing for months, and now you start telling me I'm losing credibility? Thats kind of nutty. You either agree with me or you don't.

The numbers so far show that Tannehill is a caretaker QB, and not much different than Henne. He had a good game last week, but if you are telling me that Henne would have lost that game then you are the one who has lost credibility.

As far as Henne being a bust - he was a second rounder that started for three years. He was plagued by drop from WRs and poor game plans. Fans didn't like him, and blamed him for anything the offense did wrong. But I wouldn't call him a bust. He is still playing in the NFL, could probably start on a lot of teams, and I wouldn't be surprised if the Jaguars end up starting him soon enough.

So yes, I'm comparing Tannehill to Henne. Aside from where they were drafted, I don't think they are all that different.
