Ryan Tannehill- 200 yards passing 60% completion 1 TD pass 1TD run
Brian Hartline- 9 catches for 111 yards TD's 0
Reggie Bush- 172 yards rushing 197 Total yards 2 TD's 23, 65 yard rushing TD's

By any comparison Reggie was the best player... He had 3 yards less then the QB threw for and as many TD's.. Since he doesnt touch the ball on every play. He by far was the best offensive player IMO..
You dont get AFC MVP by accident...Tannehill and Hartline most likely werent even considered for the honor, as the stats represent...

And you left out the yardage of each RT pass and RT run. And who knows how crucial those catches of Brian were in terms of 3rd down. And there were people covering Brian on each play and on each play there were people trying to kick Ryan's a_s.

Hey I'm the only guy who stepped up to blast the guy who suggested we trade Reggie. I said, in case anyone has forgotten, he's our best player,

Hey, they have to give mvp awards. I'm on board with that. Does it mean he had the "best" performance of our team? Comparing receiving passing and running stats between a QB, receiver, and runner is simply always subjective.

Another way to look at it is supposed there were only two plays in a game.

In play number one, Jake Long puts his DL man on his as_ as does Hartline. The corner slips down and the safety has blitzed thinking it a pass, and Reggie runs 60 yards for a touchdown with a wide open field.

In play number two, Ryan Tannehill with two defensive rushers having him in his grasp throws a perfect pass to Brian Hartline who is triple covered and makes a spectacular clutch catch and spins around and slips those three guys for a touchdown pass and catch of ONLY 50 yards.

You're saying Reggie had the better game because of his 60 yard rushing touchdown as compared with that "degree of difficulty" pass by RT and fantastic catch by Hartline?

Statistics don't tell the story of the game.

I can't speak for A & O, but I think this post was made to illustrate that RT is not just a "game manager" as some would suggest, he actually played a pretty decent game for a rookie and helped contribute to a huge win for everyones (fans included) confidence, in him and the team.
But it's pretty crystal clear that Reggie Bush was the MVP of this game.

More than willing to say he is our best player. But sorry, this was a triple headed performance. But for the NFL, they have to pick a player of the week.

Doesn't it feel a lot better to have this discussion than our usual which is who sucked the most or who lost us the game?

Reggie made Tanny's day easy, not the other way around.

Tannehill made a few good passes into single coverage - or in some cases no coverage at all. But he had time and the defense was definitely keying on the running game.

Miami Dolphins. Always Perfect.

Miami hasn't allowed an opposing running back to crack 100 yards in 16 straight games, the NFL's longest current streak.

Life is full of these choices, not so black and white but gray is how it comes at you at times. I hope we have a SH#T load of these choices trying to figure out which of our guys was best each week.

To be honest this isa the first time I can recall seein ANY of our players on the top 10 lists in a while.

Hope we pound the Jets

That will beat the Jets more than anything anyone on our offense does.

Assuming they don't pass on us all day. We need to see the secondary step up.

- I for one think Sanchez is a fraud, but so too is our secondary's play thus far.

- Yes I think we will play the run well, but we're going to have to find a way to put pressure on the QB

I agree that Sanchez is horrible. The thing about our secondary is that they really don't have to play that much better than last week. Teams are going to get yards against our secondary since they are average and no team can run the ball against us. The key is to hold the opposing offense to field goals and to force at least one interception. I am closely watching the development of reshad jones and sean smith this year since I have heard a lot of good things about them out of camp.

I think Bush deserves all the alcolades. But remember, a running back largely depends on good blocking. A quarterback needs blocking too but is a much bigger target by more players. A receiver has someone specifically targeting him. A running back does also when he receives but when the holes open up, and there is nothing in front of him......

Yeah and his jersey was untucked and his sock was down for most of the game. He drank too much gatorade and didn't bother to thank the water boy.

I can't figure out why we would reach and draft a QB like that. We could have waited or traded down for a WR like Michael Floyd or AJ Jenkins. Those diva WR's are always so tidy!

come on now, you act as if the success of Reggie Bush, kept Tannehill from flourishing and doing better in the pass game..We both know that is not true..Tannehill had 14 yards rushing not 200.
Reggie Bush didnt flourish in week 1, and Tannehill had 219 yrds passing, and 3 interceptions. WIth or without Bush running for 170+, RT threw for around 200 yards... HE had 36 pass attempts vs Houston and 30 against the raiders... You guys trying to prove how great Tannehill is already is laughable... I dont dislike the guy or think he is horrible, but yous guys trying to make him divine before he has done anything, is to much... THen anyone who doesnt agree, just doesnt like Tannehill in your guys minds... Tannehill is very raw and has a long way to go. SO far I am optimistic about what I have seen, but i have seen very very little of what type of qb Tannehill really is.. I have ideas about what he could be, in both directions, but i dont know which of his characterisics are going to strengthen/solidify, and which he will not be able to overcome... Henne looked good in his opener against the Jets, and then never developed consistent traits that would make him successfull.. Once teams get more and more tape on you, they force you to do what you dont like to do and take away what you like.. There is a long way to go in the hopeful progression of RT. LEts allow it to happen, without to much hype or doubts, in either direction.

One thing I was thinking the other day....

I watched Reggie a few times when he was a sophomore at USC. I remember thinking...Wow. This kid is going to be one hell of an NFL player.

Then he went to N.O. and it never came to fruition for whatever reason. He is now starting to look like the player he was at USC. Long TD runs, exciting runs etc.

It seems we have a decent track record with underachieving RBs from N.O. drinking smiley
