2012 QB Class
Posted by: dolphaholic ()

It's only been two games, but this class has the potential to go down as one of the great QB drats. RG3 looks like an absolute superstar, Luck is exactly as advertised, Wilson looks like the real deal also, T-Hill is not disappointing and in due time could be a top 5 QB, and even Weedon is not horrible (the problem with Weedon is, he's close to or at his ceiling), either way, this class has the potential to be ranked right up there with the best of em.

From what I've seen of RG3 he's not being asked to run a very complicated offense. He's certainly not being asked to go though progressions and make the type of throws Thill is making. I'm betting NFL defenses will catch up to RG3's game in short order...

For now Shanahan is doing a great job of dumbing the game down for him and keeping things really "safe." So I wouldn't certify him as "superstar" at this point. LOL.

Still, Elway, Marino, Eason, Boomer, and Kelly. It's hard to say they are in the same class. This class may be like 4 Aaron Rodgers at best.

wow how are you still hating on the guy... Name me ONE other qb that has had back to back 300 yard games and has a 3:1 TD to INT ratio or better... Just ONE man

RG3 is putting up historic passing numbers, how is that dumbing down the offense? They are asking him to throw on 3 and very long in critical situations. Why dont you stop hating on the dual threat qb and just accept the fact that they will be taking over the league in the next 5 years.

Sorry this is not the 60's no more, that statue that stands in the pocket with lead feet is dead.

Wow, I'd say Aaron Rodgers is better than Eason and Boomer already and will be better than Kelly shortly. Elway and Marino will be hard to catch but Rodgers is a beast man. He has the best arm I have seen since Marino.

And, I don't think BNF is hating on RGIII. He makes a good point. Washington is using a lot of Baylor concepts in their offense right now to make it easier for RGIII. Eventually he will make mistakes as the league catches up but he will still put up good numbers because of pure talent. The guy is a beast but he still has a lot to learn. Some of those throws man are just crazy. The guy definitely looks like a star but needs to prove it for a full season or two.

Dude, don't blow a gasket for jakes sakes!

You're obviously in a LTR with the dude and probably wear some of his superman socks. I mean, how cute is that?

Get your facts straight... I am not "still hating on the guy" because I haven't been "hating" on him in the past. Perhaps you're confusing me, or maybe you're just way to eager to "hate on" Big Nasty. Next time I'll just smack some fish in your face! LOL.

Oh no no no no. You guys are forgetting how great those QBs were in an era when the quarterback was just one small component of the team.

It was an era just pass the one when you had great running teams like Csonka and Kiick.

Those QBs are responsible for the increase emphasis on QBs.

And Aaron Rodgers! Don't make me laugh. I'm a Cal graduate and I say he still is the same piece of crap that showed up so pitifully in the Holiday bowl in San Diego.

He's got a great team behind him that's all. Give Eason and Boomer those great teams and they would be the same.

And Kelly carried the Bills.

Go back and live history Youngsters before you comment on it.

Please....The Bills were LOADED with talent on both sides of the ball and ST's. maybe you should check your history and a few depth charts.

I am an Illini fan and Eason was a bum. Boomer is not even in the same class as Rodgers.

GB has or had nowhere near the talent that the Bills had under Kelly.

YEAH, EESTI SAYS AARON RODGERS IS AS GOOD AS DAN MARINO AND JOHN ELWAY!

Or was that sarcasm?

Chyren....

It is my opinion. I've seen him play and he is amazing. Check the numbers.

He may never put up all the total yards and TD's but he didn't play for the 1st 3 years.

Accuracy is ridiculous. better than both Elway and Marino. He won a SB without a great running game like Elway had.

The few Cal grads I know love the guy. They are Green Bay fans because of him.

You are a strange cat.

Go back and look at the game before Indy where JJ called Marino out. Every QB has a bad day now and then. Look at Elway in his early games.

chyren, seriously, your gonna hate a guy based on one game? you must not like any players then.

Packers aren't loaded. Their defense sucked last year, i mean historically bad, and they still went 15-1. They are skilled on offense but they have no running game. Rodgers is ridiculous, he is the best QB right now and he is clearly playing on a level on a few have ever reached.

The only reason I wouldn't agree with eesti and say he is as good as Kelly, marino, and elway is because he has only been a starter for four seasons. By the end of his career, he is gonna be argued as greatest ever with Peyton, Montana, Marino, Elway, etc.
