Waiver Claims

So far, looks like:

CB RJ Stanford (played with Sean Smith at Utah)

FS Troy Nolan (which probably means Jimmy Wilson goes back to CB, as Philbin hinted at last night)

WR Anthony Armstrong

why not make the armstrong slaton trade if we cut slaton to sign armstrong? oh well made no difference

I still want to trade for James Jones, suprised we didn't sign anyone off GB

If Washington signs Slaton, then this becomes a valid question.

So we didn't need to make a trade for Armstrong with Slayton since both players were released. Maybe WA didn't want a RB.

The qb game is a game of poker, the longer we can hold onto both Garrard and Moore, the more we will get for whichever one we decide to part with....

I'm hoping they trade moore for another 2013 pick. gerrard makes a nice #2 and Pat gets another year to develop behind him.

The only problem is trading Moore really means you are relying on Devlin. With how philbins has gushed over how well Devlin has played.. To be honest if the coaches are correct then we should trade both of them, and sign hoyer. It's not like we have a chance to go very far this season without a miracle performance by Tannehill and bush.

Rumor was Washington was looking for a throw in. They thought they had us over a barrel because of the WR situation. For once, Ireland did something right. Even a blind squirrel....

Interesting point. Devlin was a walk on........what do you think he is worth? Its not worth it to dump him for anything less then a 4th......

You're right Dolphaholic. One has to applaud those moves. But don't they more fall in the category of a "failure to make even more mistakes" rather than making good moves?

Like I said, I'll give him Pouncey, Tannehill, and some others but what I was chuckling to myself about while driving the wife to the store is that it is ROSS who is really being taken to the cleaners. Think about it, it's his money that is coming and going as Ireland drafts these guys, has to get rid of them for less, brings in players from other teams that he has to cut, brings back players the team previously had, cuts people who get picked up by other teams, and JUST GENERALLY HAVING A GOOD OLD FASHION MERRY-GO-ROUND.

AND ALL ON ROSS'S MONEY.

It's really funny if you resign yourself to another bad season and do like the title of Dr. Strangelove which was "How I learn to stop worrying and LOVE THE BOMB."

We, myself probably the main one, should learn to stop griping and enjoy the comedy show.

It really is funny when you look at the personnel moves comedy movie from 2008, when Ireland first took over as GM, until now and look at the cast of characters from Henne until today.

Treasure, if they let Devlin go in any form, shape or manner, it will be another good episode in the comedy show I post about above.

Guys, even the best GM's don't hit on more than about 50% of their draft picks and average is 30-40%. Ireland isn't doing badly, even though he could be doing just a bit better than he is.

I'll give him another two seasons of his own before I judge him...that would give him four drafts.

Devlin is a keeper...I thought we should have given him more of a chance last year.

ok but most GMs eventually pick a super star somewhere in the draft. name one guy this guys has DRAFTED (other than Long who does not count as the #1 overall pick and an OL to boot) that even remotely comes close.

Not to mention the colassal busts this guy has picked in rounds 2-4 over the past few years

Long counts. PLENTY of 1st o/a picks flop all together. Jamarcus Russel was taken the year before.

David Carr, Tim Couch, Courtney Brown. KiJana Carter...

Some were overdrafted.....

Mario Williams, Keyshawn Johnson, Sam Bradford

but your right that Parcels/Ireland has drafted no players that have turned into superstars yet

yes eetsi but none of the players are OL, fact is OL never go #1 overall (Long is the only 2d one ever)

and . . . if you are taking an OL #1 overall you are overdrafting him so he BETTER be good. QBs are riskier picks but if you hit they can win you the SB, OL do not. I am not giving Ireland any credit for taking Jake Long #1 overall. It was the safe, low risk low reward move. Yes Long is a great player but so what? Our OL is still bad and so is our team. Meanwhile Atlanta has a franchise QB in Matt Ryan and has made the playoffs the last few years, which is something I think we'd all like to experience more often than once a decade

Dolphins did it Year after year for 3 stringer QB's.........eye rolling smiley

Brett Farve was a 3rd stringer out of Atlanta when he went to GB.......

brett farve was a former 2d round pick with great upside who was traded for a 1st round pick. matt moore has been cut from 2 teams, undrafted, got beat out by a rookie. no comparison.

however rick speilman is the GM of Minn now, maybe we can call him up and he will give us a 2d a la AJ Feeley?
