NE has had a lot of picks and probabgly isn't hitting much higher, but they have hit big on their TE's and Chandler Jones could be a stud

"could be's" were not counted in my evaluation.

Ireland's drafts have been horrible.

It's not often a gm gets to rebuild his horribly assembled team within 4 years.

He'll throw philbin under the bus as quickly as he did sparano.

Now, before he trades away all of our picks dump the clown. get someone philbin has worked with in past in there.

Philbin has yet to prove himself. Give him a couple of years before you give him the keys to the city.

unfortunately our D is miles away from top 10. they were average last year and look to be worse this year

Numbers say otherwise. It is was it is.

If anything it speaks more about the other defense being mediocre...much as we are. We won't be better unless we get better vs the pass.

eetsi we were 15 of 32 teams last year in team D. that's pretty mediocre. Certainly not top 10. And I don't see how we are going to be better on D this year than last, without Vontea and JT and our LBs a year older and slower. This is not a "top 10" defense, it's just not. Much as I wish it was

We were 15th FOR YARDS ALLOWED LAST YEAR. 6th in points allowed which is a much more important stat.

The discussion was about where we ranked last year. I am not saying we are top 10 this year. I will leave that to all the psychics who like to predict how bad we suck...

If you notice in my last post I said we were mediocre....along with a bunch of other teams in our tier.

It doesn't really matter if you rank 15th in yards allowed if 8 teams above you have allowed 2 or 3 less yards per game. They are still pretty close in performance. The point I was making is that we were not in the top tier of defenses which there were about 4...then another tier...then us.

we ranked 15 in total D last year. that is the general measure for how a D performs in the NFL. you may not agree with that stat, but it is what it is.

also, not to go all ChyrenB on you, but you said "I see a defense in Miami (top 10) that was built from the draft. Sean Smith, Davis, Odrick, Misi, Jones, Clemens, Carroll & Langford." This sure sounds like you are talking about THIS season, and there is no way in hell we are a top 10 D this season, playing a new scheme, new coordinator, with worse players.

Pretty sure I can find some if I dug hard enough, but they know who they are.
