At least 22 players will be released today and tomorrow.
Some are tough calls as we haven't received much info on a few of the battles.
For instance...at RB, Steve Slaton or Marcus Thigpen assuming we keep 4 HB's?
CB...not sure about the quality of this group outside of Smith, Marshall and Carroll. We need two more and they may not even be on our team right now. I am not that impressed with Marshall.
Kind of the same deal at WR.... Outside of Hartline and Bess anyone could be cut.
Which QB gets cut?
What is Tony McDaniels knee injury status? Hartline? Long? Murtha...again? Garrard? Garner...again....We probably won't know until first injury report comes out.
Has Olivier Vernon impressed anyone this off season? I haven't seen him do much. Some are predicting we actually keep Westerman but I don't see it. I think Trusnik and Guyton will stay. They played well.
How is Will Yeatman doing since being switched to OT from TE?
Looks like rookies Randall and Shelby have earned spots at DT and DE and Samuda at C and definitely Javorskie.
I am most curious to see in Naanee gets cut and which QB's we keep.
I rather keep wallace or moore instead of nanee...Every time there is a chance of making a first down in a key situation he drops a pass. Im sick of it.
And i know wallace or moore one of them will definetely make this team.......Moore has a better chance IMO.
Has Gates caught a single deep pass this preseason? I keep seeing him on short routes. I just don't see it with Gates. He's Tedd Ginn-part 2. All speed...but not much else.
I think it will be these 6:
1. Devon Bess
2. Brian Hartline (Could end up on IR)
3. Marlon Moore
4. Roberto Wallace
5. Chris Hogan
6. Jeff Fuller
I would be really surprised if Rishard Mathews doesnt make the team. He is a good returner on ST. And he caught nice passes in all of the preseason games... Naanee had the best camp but didnt do much in any of the games. Hartline, I dont even know how u deal with him... Based on past performance you keep him, but who knows what you can expect from him this year... Moore, Wallace, Cunnigham, Fuller,?

It's tough because it seems like Hogan, Mathews, Wallace, Moore and Fuller all represent the same value at this point. It's like they are the same player in different sizes.
Wallace and Moore have had more time to develop but are they any further than the rookies like Fuller, Mathews and Hogan? If that's the case then why not go with the quicker learners.
I think you have to make a decision betweeen Wallace and Moore
and separately....between Fuller, Hogan and Mathews.
There just seems to be something unique about Hogan.
He played only one year at receiver AND cornerback for Monmouth. The 6-2, 220-pound Hogan (4.47 40) had just 12 receptions, but three of them were touchdowns and he had three interceptions!
12 receptions 3 TD's? Thats a pretty good formula if you ask me....and he has good hands and gets open! What are his negatives? inexperience?
Fuller knows the system and could be a security blanket but does he have good hands? Were the drops at A&M enough to make RT lose confidence in him?
Mathews has made some tough crunch time catches and seems to have great hands as well.
If it was me I would always go with the guy with good hands.
Therefore....
Hartline
Bess
Wallace
Hogan
Mathews
and 1 new WR....Hell give me Plaxico at this point.
they say if there is a tie, in which player to keep the tie goes to the rookie...

There has got to be a better option than buress eesti....I mean they say there going to be like 1000 players realeased soon....Maybe by tommorrow.
There has to be a better option than burress out there. I hope the phins scouts have been paying attention.
After watching the preseason games, I am off the Hogan bandwagon and came away impressed with Matthews.
At this point, I am of the opinion that we might as well keep 3 rookie receivers and let them and Tannehill grow together. If, at the end of the season, we don't see improvement, then we know we have some draft picks we can use. What I don't want to do is sign a worthless veteran who has reached the end of his rope and was cut by his current team. If we are rebuilding, then approach your cuts that way.

I like it acummulate a lot of picks and upgrade this team through the draft so far we got a 3rd for marshall......a second and a 6th for vontae and a 7th for cook....
Matthews Fuller and Hogan Bess and Hartline with maybe Marlon Moore look workable.
They obviously are looking for another WR and CB.
I don’t know 100% why for sure, but I get the strong impression Matthews and Fuller (especially Fuller) have the chops and ‘tude to be legit NFL receivers. The H&H white boys can get open and Bess is one of the best in the league at what he does.
Certainly not a stellar group, but if they show up and PLAY (catch the ball!) we can have some degree of success. We also need that Egghead kid @TE to produce… He’s a wild card but so far not action…
This morning, the team has released wide receivers B.J. Cunningham, Clyde Gates, and Roberto Wallace. They have also released defensive ends Jamaal Westerman and Ryan Baker, linebackers Cameron Collns and Gary Guyton, and cornerback Vincent Agnew.
