I think they may keep all 4 until the get a definitive answer on Garrard's injury. If he is healthy they probably release Moore unless they can trade him.
After all, Garrard beat out Moore and RT beat out Moore.
I would hate to see it. He seems like a cool dude and is a gamer off the bench.
No way TcPf. I think the QB room needs at least one vet to continue showing Tannyhill the ropes of NFL QB and be available for Tannyhill to pick his brain. I think using 1 roster spot to help foster Tannyhill's development and keep a very good backup QB is one roster spot well spent.

This may not be the right offense for Moore. Hard to say at this point. Moore has never played well when being named the starter. he does play well off the bench for whatever reason. He is not as bad as he looked in PS games. There was a lot of tweaking going on at different positions.
In all fairness to Moore, The OL lastnight was makeshift and STILL no receiver has really stepped up. On the bright side, that Tannehill was able to move the ball and not get killed given these circumstances is a GOOD thing.

I'd say there is a 0 percent chance that they keep 4 QBs on the 53-man roster. It's possible they try to keep Moore and Garrard and slip Devlin through to the practice squad. But, Devlin is definitely in danger of getting poached by another team if they try to do that. They could cut Garrard for now, tell him to keep rehabbing, and bring him back when he's ready. And then they could ship Moore out.
Moore has definitely not played well enough to deserve a roster spot, but they don't have much of a choice.

EXACTLY. You have a young 1st rd draft pick, an injury free 28 yo veteran who has shown he is at least serviceable in the past and a young #3. IF we are 'rebuilding', WHY keep a 35 year old coming off 2 pretty serious injuries who gets guaranteed money? DUMB.

Right dolphin. Drops and poor blocking. Now that explains why Tannehill should start over him. The reason is that Tannehill has the legs to compensate for poor blocking. Remember also Henne had the strength to shake off sackers. Moore has neither agility nor strength.
However, it would be unwise to cut him and be left with Garrard as a back up as injury prone as Garrard is.
What I don't understand is when a player has several years of abuse on his body but still has talent....why wait until the last minute or until something goes wrong to get things checked out.
So many players end up having surgery right before the beginning of the season.
Look at the Browns and their new stud RB. Same issue as Garrard but he waited until two weeks ago to get it checked and scoped.
If your goin gto invest millions of dollars in a player why not get a better checkup. Get that MRI on those knees so you can have surgery in February instead of August.
it's not like that cartilage and floating crap wasn't there before. They jsut didn't find out about it until they worked it so hard.

I had some high hopes for Garrard. Sadly, I think he's finished. I mean this cat blew his knee out at home doing absolutely nothing. He's a 2.25 million dollar liability that this team really doesn't need. That money could be better spent elsewhere.
I could see an argument for keeping him if he lit up the preseason, but the dude could do nothing more than eat popcorn while watching every game just like you & I. Sure he looked good in practice, but he hasn't played a game in a year and a half. He's done. At least with the fins.

All vested veterans (4 years in the league) are considered to have guaranteed contracts if they are on the Week 1 roster. There is nothing special about Garrard's contract. If he is on the week 1 roster, his base pay is guaranteed. It applies to all 4-year+ vets.

Want to wager if all 4 are on the 53 man roster by next weekend? Once the coaches are comfortable with Garrard's health, Moore will be traded.
Not sure that's possible, Mark. To be confident that is. If they were confident then they would have swallowed that whole, "it's no big deal" take on the injury of Garrard in the first place. That would have led them to get rid of Moore before even now.
However, I would not bet you because I rely on Ireland to absolutely make the wrong personnel decision and I could very well see Tannehill going down in the fourth game of the season and we're sitting around with Devlin only on the bench and Garrard on IR.

Source said David Garrard is looking much better in his workouts. Could lead to Matt Moore getting traded before opening day
