So much for everyone who said he would need at least a year before he was ready, because he only started 19 games in college. He played in this same system in college, and that is a HUGE advantage, as some of the more knowledgeable draft experts pointed out (Brandt, Kirwan, Polian, etc).

He looks better than Matt Moore imo. He has a better arm and is more accurate than matt moore.

Yep Tannehill used to lock on at A&M and everyone says he ran the playbook but I really think the book was watered down. Saying that its the right call. He does have skill and a good attitude we have to find out if it translates into wins. Can he go out there and win some games for us.
I understand why they are starting Tannehill. Although I think the deciding factor was more about Garrard being hurt then anything else. That being said lets hope it works out and Tannehill actual wins some games before we call it a good decision... I hope he can put that raw talent to use effectively so early into his career...
I just worry what happens if the wins dont come for him...

I like Tanne, but I just fear for his psychological development right now. He's got nobody to throw it too out there, that is unless Hogan turns out to be some miracle. Doubt it. David Carr II???
The O-Line will be ok, they're still gelling but it's going to take awhile.
Defense is still a concern, just like it has been the past few years. Nothings changed in that department.
I say good. It's not like we are just a few rookie QB mistakes from a division title . Let's see what he's got, and if it's nothing then FIND SOMEBODY ELSE. I like being proactive instead of waiting forever for a QB to 'mature'.
I disagree. It worked wonders for Chad Henne. Don't you remember those 12 TD's and 14 int's he threw in his first season after sitting for a year and learning from braniac Pennington? What about the 15 TD's and 19 int's he threw the following year. Come on. That's almost a whole TD a game! He needed that time to develop after only having 52 starts in college.
Digging into this even more, nearly all of the Superbowl winning QBs in the history of the NFL started at some point during their rookie year:
Namath
Dawson
Unitas
Staubach
Griese
Bradshaw
Plunkett
Montana
McMahon
Simms
Williams
Rypien
Aikman
Young
Elway
Dilfer
P.Manning
E.Manning
Rothlisberger
That leaves Bart Starr, Ken Stabler, Jeff Hostetler, Brad Johnson, Kurt Warner, and Tom Brady as the only Superbowl-winning QBs to sit their rookie year in the NFL.

Rypien didn't start as a rookie. He was drafted by the Redskins in 1986 and spent his first two seasons on IR. Also, Bart Starr started one game as a rookie, pre-Lombardi.
IMHO that list would be more meaningful if it didn't include the QB's whose rookie season was with a team other than the one they won the Super Bowl with. That would take out Dawson, Plunkett, Williams, Young, and Dilfer. (Oddly enough, the last three were all drafted by Tampa Bay)

I stand corrected

Ahh..I didn't know that. Couldn't find much info on Starr.

I don't see why that makes a difference. The discussion centers around whether starting a rookie QB "ruins" him for his entire career (as it seemed to do for David Carr). That applies regardless of which team he started for.
