Just looking at the numbers from last weeks game...
Matt Moore (7/12/79 1 int) played almost 2 full quarters. He led 3 drives....
44 yard drive resulted in FG miss. (thanks Carpenter)
29 yard drive resulted in punt (thanks Ocho)
26 yard drive resulted in red zone int off deflection
Ryan Tannehill (14/21/167/1 td) played about 1 quarter. He led 4 drives....
84 yard drive resulted in turnover on downs
9 yards and a punt (3 and out)
70 yards and a TD (thanks Charles Clay)
37 yards and a FG miss (thanks Carpenter)
All three of the end of drives were not Moore's fault...
1 Ocho Drop to kill drive
2 deflection from WR in red zone
3 Missed FG
If you pro rate RT's performance over 4 quarters....56/84/668 yards and 4 TD's....kind of....LOL

Looked it up.
I had it wrong.
ESPN play by play has Tannehill coming in with 1:54 left.
But I think you have it right. I think it was 1:54 after the muffed punt and he ran a few plays before that.
arm
knowledge of O
physical specs
mobility
neuron cluster
fast twitch micro fiber innerliner
nasty hot wife
big toe diameter **wink**
but...
Matt Moore is a PRO with lots of experience and (as I said last year) the kid deserves the right to show what he can do in a (fingers crossed hopefully) superior system with improved blocking and scheme...
Anybody see Andrew Luck's debut all we had to do was tank the season, and he was ours for the taking. Damn did he look really good or what. Tannehill also played quite well. I say he starts the season, and has a pretty good career down in south beach.

I think Matt Moore's hands are bigger than Tannehill's.
and his RB is hurt (same procedure as Garrard) and he has no receivers. He is not in a good situation in Cleveland. I think the whole regime is on the way out when they fail this year.

Do you want to bet? If he does you leave for at least a season?

you know you are going to get railroaded by almost everybody here when Dan marino.......i mean Ryan tannehill starts the first game of the season.

This could come crashing down your face you know that right?
You are going to get railroaded by every single posters here if he starts the season indeed.
It would certainly help Thill to start if (a) Hartline returns and amps his game up by opening day and (b) 1 or 2 other WR's step forward and grab a dominant role. Right now it would have to concern the staff to insert a rookie QB with a bunch of trash @WR.
In the TB game our starters looked about like the product we fielded last year. Lackluster offense, secondary can't cover and can't tackle, etc. I know, I know the system is different, coaches are different, blah, blah, blah but players make plays not systems and coaches. IMO with Moore we get about the same results as last year. Maybe even worse since he hasn't got Marshall who he seemed to have good rapport with.
If this team were a solid playoff contender in last years form, and we were afraid Tannehill's rookie mistakes/inexperience might cost us a berth, fine, start Moore. But we know what he gives us from last year. Let our 1st round draft pick play and see if he can give this team a new identity...

OK. If Tannehill doesn't start in the first 12 regular games, you have to leave for a season, and if he does, I'll leave for a season.

LOL!
No way they will start Tannehill the first game of the season. NO WAY.
Hey, I just took Treasure up on his bet. If he doesn't wuss out, then I guess I won't be around to get railroaded. But I think its far more likely that Treasure reneges than Tannehill starts.

we will see.....Just want to inmortalize this post just in case tannehill is the starter in the first game.
Now lets you and i make a bet.....
If he starts the season you make a tagline that reads : for the whole month of sept....
Samsam3738 was right and i was wrong about The Man Ryan Tannehill.
If he doesnt start.....make the tagline you like me to post...No curse words....etc....
Is it a bet?

I'm not saying he will or won't, should or shouldn't but you know one thing on the forefront of the coaches minds is that we play the number 2 defense in the league to start the season. #4 vs the rush and number 3 vs the pass. 6th in the league in sacks with 44.
Talk about babtism by fire.
They lost Mario Williams and DeMeco Ryans. Williams will be replaced by Brooks Reed and Ryans is replaced by Bradie James. They may not be as good as 2011 but they are still a top 10 defense.
Week 3 vs the Jets
Week 5 vs the Bengals
Week 12 vs Seattle
Week 14 vs the 49ers
week 15 vs Jags
Those are the toughest defenses we face all year. Other than those defenses we have it pretty easy...Depending on how improved the Bills and Pats are...
Outside of those teams listed the highest ranked defense we face this year is 18th (AZ and Ten tied)

Sure. If he is the starter in the first game, I'll fly for a month with that tag line and then leave for a year (Treasure's bet).
If he doesn't start the first game, your tagline can read for month:
"DolphinKing was only trying to show me the truth about this team and its management. I was wrong for calling him a negative troll, and now see that he was right all along."
My new position ( I concede it's a change) is simply that Tannehill seems to be a very good quarterback. I don't know whether it is from playing in the system or whatnot.
But I think it is important not to throw him to the wolves too early.
If he is ready and plays early, it might be a boon to his confidence as it was to Dan Marino's.
On the other hand, if he is not ready then it might be bad for his confidence.
We got to trust the coaches on this one.
And (another new position) I like Philbin more by seeing him on Hard Knocks than I did before I knew anything about him.
