What kind of stupid list is THAT? How can you put Jason Taylor on the list above guys who are already in the HoF? Heck, I'd put Zach Thomas on that list before Taylor!

Not enough choices on the list, I agree.

They should either break it down in brackets by position, era played, or some other way. Just to make the whole thing last longer--at least until the season starts!

Shula (not a player, but come on...)
Marino
Csonka
Griese
Stephenson
Kuechenberg
Many others after that...

Csonka was the best full back to ever play the game! Yeah I said it, and oh yeah, I'm biased.

ETA: yeah yeah, Jim Brown. He was the best *before* the merger

Obviously I would have voted for Griese but Marino was just too great. His passing ability was so great it overcame the fact that Bob was better than him in terms of being an overall QB.

Stephenson was great because of how he protected Marino. Stephenson surely didnt lead many 1000 yard rushers. For that you can not say he is the best at his position IMO. One of the greats yes. But our running game was so dismal during the majority of his tenure.

Marino hands down, but I was born after the perfect season and only saw the end of Griese.

I think most people consider Czonka one of the best if not the best FB to ever play the game.

How in the hell do you overlook Earl Morrell. Without him, there is no Perfect Season.
I was only 8 yrs old that season, but I remember he played like an ALL-PRO, making clutch throw after clutch throw, and managing the games like a master.
Old #15, IMO, has never gotten the respect I always thought he deserved.
At least for that season.

THe 1972 team voted Earl unanimously as team MVP that year. So he got the respect from where it means the most--his own teammates. When Griese's leg got crushed in that game against San Diego, Earl had to step in, take the reins, and convince the team that he was in charge...and that he did! I was there at that game, and as a kid to see him get wheeled off on a stretcher I was horrified!

I saw all of Stephensons games, and he was a beast. But as i said before, it is hard to say a guy was the best IMO, without some rushing titles or something close to it. There are some great centers in the history of the leauge, or the history of the HOF.

Jim Langer, Jim Otto,etc.
Mike Webster is just the most recent center in the HOF.
When you go back before them, some of the HOF centers played both sides of the ball. Doubling as a MLB

I am not sure Dwight was even the best center to ever play for the Dolphins. Langer, went to three superbowls, blocked for the likes of Mercury morris, and Czonka, and is part of the perfect season. You cant just throw away those accomplishments for STephensons stats.

I think Stephenson was amazing, he was a rock on that line, dont get me wrong. I just dont think you can say he is definitve the best to ever play the position. Just like I dont think you can say any of the others were hands down better then Dwight, I wouldnt say that either.

That team doesn't get the respect it deserves.

Berk-Irving Fryar is probably the best WR on that list by far, but he only played for a couple years for the Dolphins. So while he is the best on the list, he didnt achieve the majority of his success in a Dolphins uniform.

Warfield gets some props for his perfect season and superbowls success as well.

Nat Moore, you have to give it to him on a certain level because of his success and college inclusion in Gator nation...Yes I am a gator..

My favorite and this is just personal would probably be Mark Clayton.

Clayton and DUper broke most of Moores records...

I agree Clayton was amazing. I never saw Warfield play but he's in the hall of fame I think so I guess most would vote for him, but of the guys I saw play I'd have to go with Clayton. I think he had like 18 TD catches one year and was clutch

Putting JT on that list is an insult to other players that deserve it more than JT.

Berk, PF2-
Warfield wasnt really a Dolphin that long, only 4 years or so in the middle of his career(granted it was 1970 to 1974). The Browns drafted him and he played the majority of his career with them and then onto Canada or some other league.
Because he was only here for 4 or so years and wasnt anywhere close to the focus of the offense during any of it. He was only a 30 catch a years players for most of his Dolphins tenure. He was more of the speedster deep ball guy like DUper. of those 30 receptions avg with the Phins, 11 or so were TD's...SO he caught a TD every 3 or so passes...lol
Warfield and Clayton had similar stats, but Clayton did alot more of it in Miami then Warfield. But Warfield has 2 rings and a perfect season for Miami...TOugh call. A better WR or better Dolphin.
Fryar,s 12000+ yards is pretty stunning. He had 50 percent more yards then any of the others on the list..

but most of fryer's yards came elsewhere too, right?
fryer is one of the few trades that actually worked out for us (trace armstrong, around the same time, was another)

Warfield played a year or 2 longer with the phins then Fryar, i am pretty sure

I am pretty sure Fryar was a Shula trade, and trace Armstrong was a Jimmy Johnson or Wanny trade.
