Its the first depth chart...I wouldn't worry about it all that much. Its going to change again before the start of the season.

Maybe they don't want him to get complacent...

Looks like 4 guys are locks right now:

Bess
Naanee
Johnson
Hartline

that leaves 6 guys (Wallace, Pruitt, Gates, Moore, Fuller and Cunningham) for 2 spots:

I still think Gates finds his way onto IR. He gets another year to learn what it takes at this level, plus he's under contract beyond this year.

Wallace and Pruitt have to make it at this point but there are 4 games to be played that could change that.

Fuller and Cunningham look like they are headed to the practice squad.

Moore is probably the odd man out.

is wallace the guy who caught that TD vs oak a few years ago? that was the best play I've seen a phins WR make in awhile

Thought Wallace & Pruitt have been better than Moore. I haven't hard much about Moore. Special teams play could be an asset

Actually it was marlon moore who caught the TD vs OAK

Gonna be a tough decision.

Gates is back and from what I read, he played very well. Some moves will have to be made, and my guess is one of those either being traded or cut, will be Hartline. He has played well for Miami, true, but with his problems this year, thus far, I don't believe he is that good that Miami would keep him.

Besides, Hartline is not one of the new regime's guys. Either Hartline quickly gets over his injury(s) and gets back on the field to show what he can do, or he will, IMO, be gone.

hartline is really very average. I don't see any upside to him, but based on his numbers he still one of our best. Gates, Wallace, Moore, and the rookies are all potential at this point. I am sure that Wallace or Moore--one, not both--will end up being good players in this league, question is, which one? Gates I have real doubts about. Kind of reminds me of Ginn--straighline speed but not much else. And straight line speed doesn't real translate in the nlf if that is all you got

I'm not ready to give up on Hartline yet. Many had Robiskie ranked higher (2nd round) going into the draft but he is almost out of the league now.

Hartline has better numbers thru 3 years than many of the guys who break out in the 3rd or 4th year. Jordy Nelson is one.

Heartline is a good player when he is not injured. Problem is, he's always injured.

Maybe... but he's only missed 4 games in 3 years and that was during his second year.

But he's had all kinds of problems this year (thus far) and has been on the field about as much as I have.

As I mentioned, this is a new regime; they really don't know him and have had very little chance to work with him. Either he quickly heals or he will find himself on the street. Miami has too many receivers to be concerned over one who they rarely see.

I wonder if we were one team away from adding a new WR.

Jordan Shipley (5'11 190) was waived by the Bengals and picked up by the Bucs who are one spot ahead of us on the waiver wire.

A former third-round pick who had 52 catches for 600 yards and three touchdowns in 2010 as a rookie.

Yeah where did you hear about Crabtree? He is interesting. I think, Crabtree would be a good fit in the WCO. I wonder what the price would be? Probably similar to what we got from the Vontae deal.

What about Jabar Gaffney or Dontae Stallworth as stop gap players...they were both just cut from New England.

As far as Crabtree goes...if we can trade for him I say do it! He'd be a key piece in our offensive attack for the next six or seven years.

some other familiar names at WR that were cut....

Roscoe Parrish, David Clowney, Bryant Johnson.

Not much out there yet as far as known commodities.

Gaffney had 947 yards last year in Was with no QB. He is 31 but has to be better than almost everyone we have at this point.

I'd give a third for Crabtree, maybe a litte more. Gaffney would be a nice pick up

So where we at now....

Hartline...who friggin knows? PUP, ready for opener?

so 5 guys out of this bunch....

Naanee (cough cough)
Bess (stud)
Wallace
Hogan
Mathews
Gates
Moore
Cunningham
Fuller

Pruitt had more than any of the bottom guys but he is gone.

Look at Wallace's ypc avg. nice 16.4 yards.

Fuller had more production than I thought.

Mathews has made some nice crunch time catches and Hogan as well on the final drive against Carolina.

I guess this last game will determine the final spots unless we pick someone up off waivers or make a trade. Assuming Hartline is back for week 1 the only locks should be Hartline & Bess. I am still not sold on Naanee.

Davone Bess 7 82 11.7 25 0
Julius Pruitt 7 61 8.7 22 0
Anthony Fasano 6 55 9.2 13 0
Lamar Miller 6 51 8.5 22 0
Jeff Fuller 6 49 8.2 20 0
Roberto Wallace 5 82 16.4 21 0
Rishard Matthews5 44 8.8 16 1
Chris Hogan 4 34 8.5 17 0
Charles Clay 3 49 16.3 19 1
Michael Egnew 3 43 14.3 31 0
Marcus Thigpen 3 40 13.3 20 0
Steve Slaton 3 33 11.0 15 0
B.J. Cunningham 3 15 5.0 8 0
Clyde Gates 2 26 13.0 17 0
Marlon Moore 2 25 12.5 14 0
Legedu Naanee 2 20 10.0 12 0
Daniel Thomas 2 11 5.5 6 0
Reggie Bush 2 9 4.5 9 0
Jerome Messam 2 8 4.0 10 0
Jorvorskie Lane 1 10

Now we don't get the luxury of analyzing game and practice tape to see who is running the right routes, getting open and making blocking assignments but at this point I would go with...

Hartline
Bess
Wallace
Fuller
Hogan
Mathews

with the last guy probably being waived for a new pickup. Wow...we are in trouble unless we make a serious acquisition.

Hartline practiced the first day of camp, so he is not eligible for PUP.

David Hyde wrote a list of possible wr available. I would sign Jabar Gaffney not an All pro but the type of veteran that Tannehill could depend on. I would also keep an eye on Ramses Barden from the Giants and grab jim if released. I liked him at Cal Tech 6'6" tall former 3rd rnd pick. Broken ankle in 2010 held back his development.

I would not give up our extra draft picks for a WR.
